So I haven't played fantasy since like 5 or 6th edition so any feedback is great, I just saw the new lizard models and fell in love, so here's my 2500 point list Old blood Carnasaur, light armour, enchanted shield, dawnstone, sword of strife, talisman of endurance, potion of speed Gor-rok Tetto'eko Skink priest Lv 2, cube of darkness 30 saurus warriors Full command 24 skink cohort 3 kroxigor 20 temple guard Full command, banner of swiftness Bastiladon 3ripperdactyls Ancient stegadon Sharpened horns, engine of gods Please do not post points costs for individual units. Thanks.
Welcome to the forum! We hope you have a good time here! As for your list: Your oldblood is quite solid, however being on foot means his threat range is quite small. Moving along with M4 infantry isn't the fastest way of getting him into combat/across the board, but it's the safest. Your opponent might deny you of any real combats with this unit, choosing to redirect and ignore it. Be aware of that! I'm not really a big fan of SC, but the ones you took are by far the best. So, solid! Your core: could use some skink skirmishers, I really miss the supporting units in your list. You only have tough as nails units, but nothing to support them. Skrox aren't as good as in our last army book, as both the Skrox and skinks can be attacked now. Still, they are a fun unit, though maybe not as optimal as the saurus. Special: The Temple Gaurd don't quite work the way you would want them too with Tetto'eko. Tetto'eko doesn't have a palanquin of the old ones or something like that, so the TG aren't stubborn if he joins them. You might as well just switch them out for regular saurus warriors. This also would give you some points for skirmishers. I really like the bastilodon, EotG and rippers. So that's pretty solid. Your weaknesses: War machines, you have no real war machine killers bar a single unit of rippers. Some skink skirmishers, chameleons or more flying units really help keeping your monsters on the battlefield. Enemy light troops ('chaff'). Your opponent can redirect you all he wants, you have to skirmishers of your own to annoy your opponent with. Even more so since your lord is on foot. Your opponent will be wary of getting into combat with his unit, likely avoiding it. Those are just some things you might want to think twice about. Still, it's a solid saurus-heavy list and it will be fun to play with! Good luck and welcome again! The Hunted
Well the oldblood is on a carnasaur, and you're right about tettoek, damn, it's just call the palanquin, it doesn't have the rule, so I've changed some things up. Added a slann, plan is for TG and saurus to form main battle line, with the bastilladon and EotG in between, with the small skrox cohort on one flank, and the carnasaur vet on the other. Slann bsb, focus of mystery Scar vet Carnasaur, light armour, enchanted shield, halbert, dawnstone Gor-rok Skink priest cube of darkness 30 saurus warriors Full command 16 skink cohort 2 kroxigar, poison 10 skink skirmishers 20 temple guard Full command, Bastiladon 3ripperdactyls Ancient stegadon Sharpened horns, engine of gods
Oh darn, I completely mist the huge carnosaur! In that case, the charmed shield might be good. To give it the slightest protection vs cannonballs. Otherwise, I think your list is very good! Your Slann isn't a heavyweight, but that's fine. Keeping him cheap is also an option. You have a unit of skirmishers! I think you'll find that these guys are very usefull, so that you may add more in the future. Good luck! The Hunted
