    Hello Denizens of Lustria.

I've been a long time lurker on these forums.
But now with the new Armybook out, I've decided to try my hand at some Fantasy. And what's cooler than a Lizard riding an even bigger Lizard. :D

Well as I've totally new to Warhammer and all, I've got myself a box of Saurus Warriors and the new Carnosaur.
In the midst of doing up them both, just waiting to put a coat of paint over 'em.

Anyways, I was aiming to make a list at about 1200 pts to start out, and was wondering if you guys have any suggestions. Would like to include the Carnosaur but at that point level may seem too much. ( A Bastiladon and the new Terradons looks cool too.)

Welcome to the forum, I'm saddened that it took almost a month for your post to get a reply.

To try to answer your question, yes a Carnosaur would not fit in a 1200 point game.

To start out, it's hard to beat an army box set. If you buy stuff piecemeal you should probably check out e-bay or similar sites since it's probably cheaper than retail.

For the 1200-1500 point range I'd recommend getting 20-30 Saurus, and 20-30 Skinks (you can field Skinks as Chameleon Skinks sometimes for now unless your local meta is very strict on "What You See is What You get"

I'd buy a Stegadon. You can experiment with different lists trying out different builds. A Bastiladon likewise (though they only have two builds.

I'd buy a Salamander or two, they are good against nearly every army.

I'd go with a Skink priest and a Scar Veteran on foot (unless you buy a Starter set in which case you may want to build a Scar Veteran on a Cold One to make your cavalry more practical).

After a few games with this setup, you can get a feel for your own preferred playing style which will inform your decisions on what models to buy next. Taking a Scar Veteran and a Skink Priest will help you decide which way you prefer to field your general which will help you decide whether to buy a Slann or a Carnosaur first.
