Hey Guys, Brand new to the forum and back into Fantasy after too long of a break messing around with silly round bases. Anyway first played Lizards when the Bretonnia vs Lizards box came out all those moons ago and after realising how hard tomb kings are to play I have shelved them and decided to buy a new army. Anyway enough of the trip down memory lane lets get to the meat and potatoes of it. I have a game coming up and its a team game and I have 1000 points to play with and i was wondering if any of you good folk can give me any pointers or ideas. My list is this Oldblood on coldone (Cha'Izard) Steg helm Dragonbane Gem Gold sigil sword Skink Priest Lv2 Beasts 10 Skink Skirmishers x4 5 Cold ones Oldblood goes here Ancient Steg Basically we are against Orcs and Ogres. My outlying plan is that I bring the cake my while my partner brings the party. I have skinks to use as chaff and general annoyance for the ogres dropping the poison shots on them while my Oldblood/coldones can be used as hunters running down prime targets from the Orcs/Ogres. the steg will be used to get stuck in to any meaty blocks he can find. It aint by any means a tourney list as its a friendly game and most of us are learning our armies but any advice, tactics or even if ya wanna take a big steaming dump on the list I will be thankfull for your input. Cheers guys PJ
Looks decent for a 1000 point team game... Though I can't seem to find what army your partner is running.
Was just looking for that too. Knowing what your partner is going to run will help us steer you in the correct direction. Team games are about each partner picking a specific aspect of the game and min/maxing for it. If you both bring a balanced all comers 1K list you're going to suffer against other teams that choose to exploit their armies strengths. If your ally is a weak magic army you may consider shifting your focus to that. Tetto'eko would be down right OP at 1K.
Sorry guys missed that bit out (doh) my partner is running High elves he has at this moment in time Lv2 Mage 21 archers 14 swordmasters 10 Phoenix guard 5 reavers Frost heart Phoenix Because it is first outing with HE he wanted to get a bit of everything in to try to cover all bases to learn how they play. He is undecided at the moment on which magic lore to take. I suggested maybe shadow so we can try and snipe them characters the enemy will have. I know the ogre player is taking a Lv2 fire belly and the Orc has a boss leading some savages and a few goblin bosses in a big spearman unit. I'm trying to gather more info as we progress. Cheers for the reply guys!
