Hi all as the title says, new to Lizardmen, this is my first attempt Slann Bsb mastery rumination cupped hands dispell scroll Skink priest cube of darkness 25 saurus warriors fc spears 25 saurus warriors fc spears 30 temple guard fc ironcourse icon banner of eternal flame 5 chameleon skinks 5 chameleon skinks salamanders /w handler extra handlers salamanders/ w handlers extra handlers I have edited the list to include a skink priest, cube of darkness, a dispell scroll and beefd up the saurus warriors.
Pretty good looking list but you can save some points on the slann. Since he has to be in the TG bunker hers pretty safe. You can drop higher state and plaque of protection. Since he can't be shot at or targeted anyways with a few exceptions and 5 wounds with a 4+ ward take care of most of them. For 15 points you should add the standard of discipline to give him LD 10 (TG are still testing on LD 9 though) And you should add a dispel scroll of cube of darkness in there. A dwellers or pits of shades on your TG would really ruin your day. You could add a skink priest or drop cupped hands for that one.
Thanks for the advice, guess i was too concerned with magic missiles and runed up warmachines. Ill try it. Can i still take the cube item or cupped hands with a magic standard? Oh can a skink priest join a saurus block or chamo skinks?
The slann get a 2+ LOS roll from warmachines so not to big a deal. Yep cupped hands/curb can be combined with a magic bsb. Skink priest can join saurus just sits on theside of the front rank. Can't join the chamo skinks becuase he doesn't have the scouts rule.
I love the way you have your Slaan, Rumination and Becalming are staples for me in any game of 1500 or more, though I usually also take Plaque of Tepok to get a 5th spell in my chosen lore.. pretty much ensures I'll get what I want and have lots of spells for the enemy to have to split dispell dice on. This next part is purely opinion based, please make note of that... Spears are unnecessary and can serve as a hinderance on saurus warriors. You already throw out 15 attacks on a 5 wide unit with at least 2 ranks. paying an additional point per model to get 5 more attacks on a third rank equals out to 25 extra points per unit, 50 points for both.. thats nearly an entire extra rank of saurus warriors worth of points. Once you get knocked down to less than 15 models in that unit you also lose those extra attacks you paid for, and trust me that with one good purple sun/pit of shades getting tossed on you that is a likely event. TG fielded in units of more than 20 always worry me. In order to make that investment worthwhile you pretty much HAVE to rush forward and get them into melee, never a good proposition with your general, level 4 wizard, AND BSB in the same unit. If anything cut 10 of those temple guard out and apply the points toward a meaty skrox unit to act as a good hammer to back up your saurus anvils.
