I am fairly new to warhammer and I am looking for any rules about calvary and charging spears. I used to play Lord of the rings stb and there was a penalty against charging speared units. But I cant find any rule about it. I want to pick up some cold ones but I want to get all the rules down first.
Cavalry with spears get +1 Strength on the first turn of combat if they charge. Infantry with spears fight with an additional rank of supporting attacks if they did not charge. The rules for weapons are on pages 91 and 92 of the big book of rules.
Well first off welcome to the forum. And i would recommend the Rulebook, helps with almost everything. Right if you charge a unit of spearmen the following things happen -You will strike in Initiative order (1 being lowest (aka us) 10 being fastest) -Spear men well get 3 ranks to attack you convers to other weapons (2 ranks) unless a horde, where they well get 4 ranks -You attack And being lizards with I of 1 we kinda blow with our cavarly and I hope that anwsered your question Lloyd
As I understand it you wonder if cavalry get any extra penalties when charging spears. The answer is No.
