At 750pts it depends a lot on your play style and that of your opponents (if you know them). I've been playing a 750pt campaign recently and my list is very different.

    Heroes
Skink Priest - Lvl 2 Beasts
    Dispel Scroll
    Talisman of Protection

    Core
10 Skink Cohort with full command

10 Skink Cohort with full command

16 Saurus With full command and spears

    Special
    3 Terradons with sky leader

    Rare
    Salamander with additional handler

I was wondering about scar vet vs skink priest, which do people generally think is better at low level? I was thinking wyssan's maybe hard to get off?

Is a skink priest better than a scar vet at low points do you think?

I think a Skink priest is better. Especially a Skink Priest with the Ruby of Ring of Ruin. That's 3 spells so your power dice will never go to waste. Note a L1 Skink Priest is NOT worth it at low points games given that about half the time your opponent will have as many dispel dice as you are allowed to throw at your one spell.

From my experience, in a game this small a L2 Skink Priest with a Ruby Ring is almost TOO good. A non-wizard will help you practice Warhammer fundamentals better. Sometimes it's good for players just starting out to make a gentlemen's agreement to play their games sans magic.

I would strongly advise dropping the Talisman of Protection. If you want to protect him take the Opal Amulet or better yet avoid combat altogether with your priest altogether.

I would drop the unit champions on your Terradons and Skink Cohort. In my opinion they are not worth it in a points size game this small. Dropping those three champions means you can take six more Skinks.

Switching the Cohorts to Skirmishers will give you more flexibility and shooting prowess as well as better protection for your Skink Priest.

I would consider dropping the Dispel Scroll. There's not going to be a lot of nasty spells thrown about and there's a better than 50% chance that when you DO need an auto-dispel it will be with Irresistible Force anyway.

I mentioned this in another post, but I think at low points Iceshard Blizzard is better than Wyssan's. -1Ld is better when your oppoenent probably doesn't have a BSB. -1 To Hit is just as good (sometimes better) than +1T's effective -1 to wound. And Spells in Heavens double as damage spells against flyers (and I suspect cheap flying units will cause more havok in small point games). Plus, Iceshard is half the cost of Wyssan's so you should be able to get it off even in weak magic phases.
