Hey all! I'm brand new to Warhammer Fantasy but I'm pretty excited about it. Of course the first army I decided to build is a Lizardmen army. The look and feel and history of them really appeals to me. Any tips you can give to a new player?

The best tip I can give you is to keep on having fun :) When doing warhammer find a style that suits you (i'm not just talking about in battles): Collecting your army. If you find its better to collect small amounts at a time then do that, if you want to just go all out and get everything then make sure no one is stopping you first ;)

Read through the rulebook, the fantasy rulebook as well as the lizardmen army rulebook to try and get a more in depth idea of what the game entails, then start trying to create your own army. Don't be afraid to ask questions and give your own opinion of things. One of the best things for you to do right now is to learn as much as you can at a steady pace!

The Lizardmen have some of the best "harassing" killers. If your opponent is using units like fast calvary and flyers to tie your army down then get some Barbed Razordons and Salamanders to kill those things right quick. Then use Terradons to kill artillery, take out lone heroes, and harass the enemy while stopping them from marching. Saurus warrior blocks with spears are pretty effective. I suggest staying away from Kroxigors. These are just some ideas. Good Luck.

Thanks so much for the tips guys. I just got a battalion in from eBay and it was jammed packed full of stuff. I'm away from home for now so I can't list all the specifics but I do know that I got 40 Saurus warrs, a slaan Mage priest, a Saurus lord, a bunch of skinks, a regiment of cold one cav, tons of bits and some terradons all for 100$ including shipping. It was a huge steal. I also put in an order for a stegadon and 2 sallies. I'm curious to know what the better set up is for my steg. Is engine of the gods a must have? Or, since I got a slaan, should I put a giant blowpipe on it? So far I'm having tons of fun painting them up and playing them against my buddies. Still learning all the nuances of the game so I've been using basic tactics for now.
