Did you guys notice, a new FAQ for BRB has come up. Nothing big for Lizardmen, I think, but at least it confirms that Scouts don't counts as your drops, so you won't lose the +1 for the starting roll. That's pretty cool for Chamo Skinks.
That is pretty handy. So is GW going to re-print this book at some point? There seems to be enough stuff in the FAQ to warrant it.
Best of my recollection, GW has never re-printed a book just for rules clarifications and FAQ changes/additions. What I have seen in the very distant past, however, were paragraph formatted inserts in White Dwarf that could be glued/taped etc. over the existing rule book. But I don't see GW doing that anymore. As for our Army Book, I'm sure an 8th edition release will clear up the few pages of rules errata and FAQ's for us (well.. as least I hope it does!). - Lord Cedric
What I cannot understand is why they don't make a bigger hassle about their FAQs. I still cannot find the FAQ page from their main page, I always have to google it. And even there, they don't add dates to the files when they were updated, only the number of update is changed. Why the "secrecy"?
To be fair, it isn't very difficult to find their FAQ from the main page, It is gaming < errata and FAQ Or Search FAQ in the search box. Both of these methods will find the documents relatively easily
No overrun if the last wounds are lost to Unstable/Instability/other is good news for anyone fielding Jungle Swarms as speed bumps.
I just read the Empire FAQ. The response to question 1 has me quite confused. Maybe I just need to see it in a game to understand it. For the most part the game is still quite playable without having to ask GW for clarification. Back in the day me and my buddies would just roll-off if there was an issue. That worked for us. I never knew about the FAQ until I came back to WHFB last year and got into a few games with people I didn't really know. And that was mainly because the LM book is still 7th edition.
Still, they could have a small announcement somewhere in their main page or something. Well, in any case, the information travels quickly on the internet era. Oh, one more thing that affects Lizardmen a bit: When used on cavalry models, the Regrowth spell resurrects one model for two wound rolled (previously it was one per one for everything). What it comes to Tomb Kings, yeah, the people at their forum are ecstatic. Not only Crumble prevents overrun, but their own FAQ changed the Entombed Beneath the Sands rule so that those units can deploy normally. So in the future you might see Scorpions and Tomb Swarms as War Machine protectors as in the previous editions and maybe even a big unit of Stalkers acting as a make-shift Volley Gun (with a really short range).
Following the chatter on Warseer, it seems our Scar-Vets are no longer going to be the most frequently encountered T5 characters. Even more reason to bring a poisoned Great Weapon, I suppose. At least Chuck Norris isn't T5... yet...
I am still learning the rules and the Lizardmen army. The impression I got from these changes that directly affect the Lizzies are that swarms got buffed. and Slann with BSB magic banners that refuse challenges won't be able to cast anymore? I am not sure if I interpreted that correctly. If it's true, how much does it change your army lists and tactics if it does at all?
Other than a crumble not leading to an overrun, I don't think swarms got much of a "buff" - the enemy can still do a combat reform to correct it's facing. It does allow for a nice speed bump however, assuming your swarm is not eliminated through normal combat - which will ordinarily happen against any decent enemy unit. Am I missing something?
Reference Section – The Lore of Light, Birona’s Timewarp. Change “[...]Movement[...]” to “[...]Movement Allowance[...]” I recognize that the following speculation is a long shot.... Movement like all traits can't exceed 10. But can movement "allowance" exceed 10? If that's the case Lore of Light just got a lot better. Cold Ones marching 28 inches, the armies with M8 or M9 cavalry would benefit even more.
I have seen a lot of speculations about that on other forums, people have been digging out their dictionaries and thesauruses. I think there hasn't been any concensus, but most seem to think that it still cannot go over 10. That one is a good example of the often ambiguous style of GW.
