Hi everyone. Im really new to fantasy and im playing my first 'proper' game on saturday Vs my friends WoC.
Could anyone please help me with ideas for a 1500pt list? Are skinks worth it when chaos warrior and knights are so tough? I know he'll be playing a spawn and some trolls too. Please help, i really dont want my ass handed to me cause i cant hurt him! (or at least his troops) :)

Chameleon skinks or just normal skink skirmishers are a must have against tough units, especially trolls. Salamanders are very good against WoC also, so try and include a few of them at least.

    Ok, thinking:

    Scar-vet - LA,SH,GW

    Scar-vet - LA,SH,Spear,Cold One

    EOTG

    2X18 Saurus - Spears,FC

    2X10 Skink Skirmishers

    5X Saurus Cav

    2X Salamander Pack - 2X Handler

    Around 1400pts

Scar-vets go one in one of the blocks and on with the cav. Should i maybe be trimming the numbers for more points for items/ banners? Any suggestions on what items to take against WoC?

The skink priest on EOTG alone is 355 points; in a 1500 game you'll only have 375 in heroes, so it won't fit with your scar veterans. Personally, I'd use the stegadon as a regular or ancient, and put the priest on foot with lvl 2 and a Plaque of Tepoc.

Units of 18 won't make very good use of your saurus's spears. As soon as you take any casualties you'll be losing the extra attacks you paid for. I'd join them together in one large unit, or run HW&S.

Taking the shield off the great weapon Scar Vet will save you a few points. He can't use it in close combat, and assuming he's with the saurus he'll have 'look out sir' against shooting and spells.

That's just my observations; good luck!
