So I tried to order a box of kroxigors from three different vendors this week, two local shops and one online shop, all of them told me they dont have them right now. The third one finally responded with this:
Has anyone seen anything like this before from GW? Makes me think that a new version of krox's are coming out soon.

I'm not so sure, I have seen on other sites where GW has started altering their trade agreements with vendors. I play at a local Hobbytown store, they have recentlty said that due to their trade agreement with GW, they cannot offer any type of discount on any 'core' troops. I do not know if this is across the board, just something I heard in passing.

GW had a change to their sales agreement that basically bones the retail shops so that GW can increase profits

Although I'm not entirely sure whether that will actually increase their profits...

You'd think so, but GW keeps sticking it to their fans every year. People make mistakes, but no one does the same thing over and over again unless they get something out of it.

revenues might dip, but direct purchase from them would go up of people want that unit. I'm sure some short sighted executive saw a quarter he could squeeze out for the shareholders and pounced on it w/o regard for the consumer base.

Yeah, I meant that they can see a sudden, local raise, but in long term I don't think it's a way to make most money. But, as Scalenex pointed out, they keep doing it, so guess there's something in it for GW.

Certainly, they will bone themselves in the long run. cheese off the fans and retailers, and alienate the customers that keep them afloat.

With more and more gaming companies joining the 'game,' it is only going to hurt them in the long run. I am sure that I will probably get the next edition as well as the lizardmen stuff that they put out. After that, I am not so sure. I have already started buying minis from other companies (Mantic, Alkemy).

Kings of war could eventually hurt their business, I think.

Is there a sticky post of online vendors for minis and other gaming goodies? places that have good models for good prices?

Not really, however, you can ask everyone's opinion.

I would recommend (in the US):

    http://www.thewarstore.com/

    or

    http://www.miniaturemarket.com/

I will say that miniature market runs clearance specials as well as daily specials that have great prices on all sorts of really nice models. Also, craigslist (if you have it in your area) and ebay is always good.

eBay has been my favorite so far. Already assembled and painted models is totally for the win. My paint scheme is the blue standard that is the books, because I am lame and have no creativity nor painting skills. A lot of models have been painted as such by the sellers on there, so it works for me. There are some pretty wicked themes though we have going on here. The ice lizards and volcano lizards are sweet.

I have built my Lizardmen army from ebay. To date, my best purchase on ebay was probably 14 Kroxigors for about $45. They were painted to a high table top standard too. They have a lava theme that looks great.

I had a guy selling salamanders and terradons painted for about $10 each. combined shipping I got 9 total for about $80. pretty happy with it. Skink bowmen are almost a dollar a dozen on eBay. I have a few just to fill out skrox ranks. new models are wicked expensive. saurus are worth it, skinks are skinks.

Ive been building the skinks with blow pipes from the new sets and then arm swapping old models with the javelins and shields to update the old archer models.
