Hello lizards, I think I know the answer to this, but do you think the Oldblood on Carnosaur is a more viable hero pick after the recent point changes? It brings him a little closer in points to the Scar-vet on Carno; 250 vs. 215 respectively. But is that enough? Are his stats and abilities a reasonable pick over the Scar-vet now? Are 2 Carno lists more feasible now (or practical)? Thanks!
well, 35 pts is now a relatively small gap and the oldblood can bring more pain. So yeah, i expect to see the oldblood more often. I wouldn't bet on double carno, though.
Depends on list. If I have units I want to buff, scar-vet. If i want a cruise missile to go out and eat things, Old blood,
Was thinking about this more and I think you might be able to make double carno work in the right meta without really compromising much. Allegiance: Seraphon - Constellation: Koatl's Claw - Grand Strategy: Take What's Theirs - Triumphs: Inspired Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur (215)** - General - War Spear - Command Trait: Dominant Predator - Artefact: Eviscerating Blade Saurus Oldblood on Carnosaur (250)** - Artefact: Blade of Realities - Mount Trait: Beastmaster Slann Starmaster (285)* - Artefact: Itxi Grubs - Spell: Stellar Tempest Saurus Astrolith Bearer (155)** Skink Starseer (145)* - Spell: Tide of Serpents Skink Starpriest (130)* - Spell: Hand of Glory 10 x Saurus Knights (220)*** - Lances - Reinforced x 1 5 x Saurus Knights (110)*** - Lances 5 x Saurus Knights (110)*** - Lances 5 x Saurus Guard (115)** Bastiladon with Solar Engine (250) *Command Entourage - Magnificent **Warlord ***Bounty Hunters Artefact Artefact Total: 1985 / 2000 Reinforced Units: 1 / 4 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 107 Drops: 11 I went for extra artifacts because I really like Grubs on the slann to help control the magic phase and Blade of realities on Old bloods to maximize hero hunting. You could do less artifacts and a battle regiment for less drops if you wanted to.
I like this. It looks like a pretty tried and true KC list. I like the grubs, too. I won't lie that I'm generally not as impressed with the Carno as I am the Stegadon, but I like Saurus. Would you run the SC with the big group of knights or with one of the small units? That's probably a mission/battlefield question. Maybe the Starseer could hang with the big group?
I tend to keep the starseer close to the big group. With the scar vet a little away but still in 18 to buff the big unit. I try to keep the monsters and the knights spaced out so that they cant pull the carnos into combat if the knights get charged.
