    Hello all, i wasn't sure wether to put this into tactics or lists so i flipped a coin!

    Here's my Old Blood Carny build:

    Carnosaur
    Light Armour
    Shield
    Glyph Necklace
    Blade of Realities
    Total = 466

    What about...

    Carnosaur
    Halbred
    Venom of Firefly Frog
    Enchanted Shield
    Light Armour
    Glyph Necklace
    Total=428

    Ok, discussion time. Remember in the back drop of Ard Boys.

    Obviously both have The Glyph Necklace and the 5+ Ward save. The real difference is the weaponry.

    Blade of realities = 5 St6 attacks w/ no AS allowed. And being magical it negates some ward saves. Also 1+ AS in close combat for the oldblood himself. 2+ AS vs. ranged attacks.

    Halbred + Firefly Frog = 5 St6 attacks w/ poison and also magical. But two handed so Armour save of only 3+ in CC. 1+ AS vs. ranged attacks.

    The no armour save is nice againt things with high armour saves (like myself) and being Ard Boyz i expect there to be some nasty builds. but hitting on 6's is cool too. I am also running 3 steggies in the tourney. 2 EoTG's and a chief on baby steg w/ war spear. I plan to run the Carny in a stampede of dinosaur terror.

    Not only would i like opinions, but if you have a build that has worked for you i would be glad to see it!

    I've also fooled with the idea od th ealways strikes first sword and running as a flank protector to the steggies until i can get the thunder charge off.

    As always, Thanks for the input!

    i think you are refering to the blade of revered tzunki and that blade is kinda a waste the burning blade of chotec is going to give you a -4 to AS and a flaming for 40 points less with those points you can give him the enchanted shield and/or the bane head granted you don't get the str. 6 you seem to be looking for but that build seems to work for a lot of people

    Right. Blade of Revered Tzunki. Looked one too high in the codex, thanks.

    I actually had the BBoC as an potion in an earlier list, with bane head actually. I was wondering how much stuff out there is really flammable?

    I know the treeman and treekin from WE's, but not Dryads, go figure. Of course they only have one wound each so i guess it doesn't matter anyway.

    Really though, I also know about Tomb Kings being flammable. What else? Are vampires flammable at all? Deamons?

    Thanks for the reply, and info.

    It's not so much about being flammable, it's about countering regen. IE hydras, some nurgle stuff...

    Forgot about regeneration, good point. And my second army is DE's, how'd i miss that one?!

    Even the Slann has an option for regen.

    For discussion's sake though. What else is flammable? Especially coupled with Bane head, that's a potential 4 wounds per hit. Could be massive. More specifically, what characters are flammable because that's where Bane Head comes in.

    Bear in mind that flaming attacks can be a double edged sword... Dragon Armor (ie. all combaty characters in HE and their Dragon princes), Rune of Furnace (Dwarves) and the White Cloak is (Empire) some items that really ruins the character and makes the wielder immune to fire (or well 2+ ward on white cloak iirc)...

    Imo The Blade of Realities is really hard to pass up on - such ashame it isn't 5 points less so you could get some protection vs No AS things (KB, Cannon, ST's, BT's etc)...

    Personally I'd take option 2 but I'd give him Armor of Itzl instead as your AS will probably prove too much for the most stuff that dont kill you outirght anyways (again KB or multiple wounds stuff)... you need that 2+ WS if those waywatchers turn up, a BT gets lucky or that assassin pops on you :p
