Hi there, I am currently evaluating the following units: - Skink Cohorts - Skink Skirmishers - Terradons - Chamelons Just wondering how many of each we need in our armies now. What unit sizes, configurations and numbers of each unit should we be taking?
I know that lots of people are bagging on them now, but I think that skinks with blowpipe are pretty great. at short range (so within 18" with March and Shoot), they get on average 3 poisoned wounds. I guess I just like them more because of their increased threat range. The javelins are pretty good too, doing roughly the same number of wounds at short range, and more at long range. Terradons have never been a shooting powerhouse, they're just really versatile unit. CS are great warmachine hunters with the new rules. Salamanders really come into their own now, being able to march and shoot, and no partials on the template. I'm taking two of them to my first 1k game with lizardmen later tonight. I'll try and post up a battle report.
Definitely agree that all sounds good. It really depends on what you feel like playing with. I think it is pretty great that instead of just skirmishers and terradons being the viable options we now how actual debate about what to take. And salamanders well you need as many as you can fit in to your list
