paint advice

hi all, going to my local gw in a few hours to get paints for my new lizardman army, want to use the normal colour sceem but want to no what base paint and washes are best to use. any advice welcome. thank you.

But don't worry about buying all the colours they suggest, it is a bit over the top. It is very easy to mix up your own shades, lots of their colours are quite similar. Also if you are just starting out you most likely won't be trying to put multiple layers of highlight on each model anyway.

Get a dark blue, I like regal blue. A mid tone like enchanted or ultramarines. And a light like ice blue. You will also need black and white to add extra shades by mixing, I don't particularly like the effect from the asurman blue wash so you can try it if you like but I would stick with devlan mud and just use it to add depth.
