I propose the following based on musings I have had since the domain incident:

Setting up a patreon to support the forum. For those of you who don't know:

Patreon (/ˈpeɪtriɒn/) is a membership platform that provides business tools for creators to run a subscription content service, as well as ways for artists to build relationships and provide exclusive experiences to their subscribers, or "patrons.

While this is not 100% the intended use of the platform, this would be similar in style to DakkaDakka.com 's "contributing member service"

The various tiers of rewards could range from a personalized title to access to secret subforum just for contributors.

Hell, contributors could be classed as "eternity wardens" to show that they want to safeguard our community for the future.

Honestly the contribution doesn't have to be much. We could work up asystem where it costs an average member $12-25 per year

Not sure how this would help at the moment, @The Red Devil hosts the forum through his business and I think it classed as a "charity" site so he may gain incentives in other ways, tax etc.

I could be wrong, I usually am.

If that's the case then never mind. Tax breaks are probably more important

I appreciate the suggestion, though as things are at the moment it won't be necessary. We are able to handle the cost of hosting and software license/updates.

I wish that it would give a tax reduction :writing: It is just a way to give something back, while this community is not tied to our "local community", it is a great forum community, and it would be a shame if it disappeared.

We probably don't say that often enough, so again:
Thank you! :)
