Got decimated. I eeked out a draw through point denial. with the slann topped out at 525! He usually survives the battle with lifebloom. My opponent had two miscasts during the game! awesome. I was trying to throw my miscast (using cupped hands) at the beginning of the game with 6 dice trying to cast thrown of vines. Didnt get a miscast though. oh well.
Well, just keep on getting some games and then learn new things and read up in these forums (and also check out the Battle Reports section to get some ideas there too) and you'll be commanding greater hosts and slaying Dark Elves by the thousands!
If Dark Elves are playing magic heavy with a lvl4 just do what I do to kill Teclis and take bane head and a feedback scroll, then when they throw 4 or more dice at a spell, boom, one dead wizard...cupped hands can go on an EOTG thus offering a bit of protection against miscasting.
thanks for the advice. i've been hearing hearing about the the feedback scoll with bane head a lot on the boards. i usuall put plaque of tepok and the talisman of protection on him. im to afraid to take of cup hands from the slann.... with focused rumination he's rolling at least two dice. just enough for a miscast everytime... soul of stone is blah... i could hope for a "nice" miscast but i rather just avoid it.
this is true. that's why attempt to throw miscasts at my opponent instead of doing the bane head and feedback combo. with the cupped hands of the old ones used up, i have the throne of vines up replacing the item. but of course it can be dispelled on an 8+. hopefully they don't remember remains in play spells. which happens quite often surprisingly enough.
you can just cast it again the next turn. i usually throw 1+1 dice at it and my opponenet lts it go to dispell other stuff. ofcourse it gets dispelled in his turn, but that means -2 dice from his casting pool
