Looks a good list but if you want to optimize your list futher drop your Saurus Champions and drop the Temple Guard.

Replace with a regular unit of 20 Saurus and that will save you heaps of points. Put that item on the Slaan that makes him Stubborn and then he can float around the saurus units without having to worry about being attached to one untill depeleted and there will be no worries about keeping him safe.

Try 2 units of 2 Sallies with extra handlers and then just bulk out your Chameleons.

You have a lot of SOLID blocks as well you every thought about dropping one for a Steg? or some Skinksjust to harass and take focus off your main line?

Let us know how the game goes! And good luck!

You can't take cupped hands and power scroll together, both are arcane items. Bane head is wasted with lore of life, as you won't be doing much direct damage to a specific character. You are going to want the banner that gives flaming attacks to deal with hydras, I'd trade out bane head for it on the Slann. Your scar vet build doesn't work since you have to use the great weapon you can't use the maiming shield.

Other than that, very solid list.

    What Vapor said is correct.

Also be prepared to eat nasty miscasts from the ring of hotek. Its an item which will let you miscast on any double cast on a unit within 12" of it AND if the caster is within 12" of the bearer. Plenty of DE players use that one.

Expect a lot of shooting, with armour piercing. Good chance he will be using a couple of bolt throwers aswell.

Salamanders will absolutely destroy his infantry blocks. Try to take some more (2x2salamanders + xtra handlers works pretty good). Basically killing models hit on a 4+ :p

There is a good chance he will have a good level Wizard which will chuck a good amount of dice at spells (they can even get extra power dice with a spell if im not mistaken) so consider putting the banehead + feedback scroll combo on the Slann. If he were to roll a spell with lets say 5 dice, and he doesnt IF then you have the possibility to get lucky and instagib the wizard. Be wary though you might want to watch out what spell it is that you are letting through.

    Hope this helps =)

Did not know that I couldn't combine cupped hands with the power scroll, I was gonna throw that at his sorceress along with the bane head :(

Any tips on how to use the salamanders, It seems like they're gonna miss targets alot.

It's my first game back since 6th edition, so I apologize for the mistakes.

Well the length of the template is 8" and the average throw you make on the arty dice is 4"-6" I tend to fire when i am about 14-15" away. Usually a roll of 4 is enough on the dice is enough to at least hit a good 4 models. Try to fire on a flank, with the removal of partials you really want to maximize the number of bases you hit. If the template covers the base (even if its a really tiny bit) the model is hit. No more partials <3
Also if I'm not mistaken Salamanders may march and shoot, so they have an effective range of at least 22" (12" march, 8" template and min roll of 2" on the dice). That is if you don't misfire and eat some skinks. Thats why i usually take extra handlers. You will not be amused if you roll a misfire on the first shot, and then roll a 6 (aka 3 on a D3) losing 3 handlers and having to take a monster reaction test :p

yes, sallies can march&shoot. I definitely recommend taking more than 2 into such bigger list + take the additional handlers as well, both for salamander food and for moving wounds to them (as per the monsters&handlers rule).

So I won the game, kind of a massacre. I killed everything with my saurus units and he did barely any damage. He played a pretty weak list with 2 mages, the witch king and an assassin.

I forgot about Malekiths spell shield and it ended up killing my Slann in the first round.

Luckily my saurus were way to strong for his witch elves and spearmen.
