Hi everybody , My girlfriend playes lizardmen and has a lot of skink archers from previous editions. She really wants to use them against my army and i'm fine with that. We played them as 6 points (with jungle poison). Now she want them to skirmish just like her skinks with blowpipes (or javs) How many points should you guys make them to get a fair battle? So : skinks skirmish , shortbows , jungle poisons along with the usual rules like cold blooded etc. Love to hear what you guys think. Greets Dutchie.
8 or 9 points seems reasonable. You can also proxy them as blowpipe skinks. I still wish they hadn't removed bowskinks from the army tho.
skirmishers already have effective rules for making them armed with javs and shields for 7 pts. the only thing you lose out on is the ability to add krox into the squad.
I guess she likes the extra 6" of shooting. They are cool looking models for their age though. Indeed no krox but i'm sure my wood elves wouldn't mind that. btw , do javelins also benefit from the jungle poison rule? We will make them 8 points then , 1 more for the extra range they get compared to the javelins & shield upgrade. Thank you guys for your answers so far.
oh skink archers, i totally missed that bit. my bad. skinks treat all their ranged weps as poisoned, so i would assume they'd get it on arrows as well.
haha that's ok Cravevus. Next week we will play them as 8 point models. It will be an all skirmish army with some saurus and temple guards in the back for the hard hitting. I will face them with my beastmen first. If the goats never reach her lines and panic of the table we will make them 9 points i guess I will let you guys know how it went.
I would put them as the same points as blowpipes or even 1 point lower as the advantages of poison with the extra shots is generally more useful than the longer range of the shortbow.
