Curious to see how others on the forum feel about the various non-lizard armies. Pick your favorite based on whatever combination of criteria is most important to you. Feel free to share the reasons for your selection. What is it about the army that appeals to you?

For the exclusively AoS players, feel free to pick the army that best represents your favorite non-Seraphon AoS faction.

    Vote and discuss!

Since I can pick only 1 army in the poll let me expand the selection to: High Elves, Tomb Kings, Wood Elves. Unfortunately only the last one is actively sold :(
Reasons are purely aesthetic. I played tabletop like once and more than 10 years ago :)

For me it is Sylvaneth (Wood Elves in this poll) or Legions of Nagash which is... Vampire Counts I guess.

And the thing with Legions of Nagash is: Tomb Kings also have everything I like about Death armies, maybe even more. Hordes of Skeletons of different kinds is what I like.
I am not a fan of the old TK sculpts though.

    Hmmm....

    Voted Wood Elves.

Even though I’ve been doing stuff with Greenskins, High Elves and Skaven and I also have a great fondness for Tomb Kings, Bretonnia and Wood Elves, it’s got to be my very first army, the Dwarfs (and their AoS descendants the Fyreslayers and Kharadron)!!!!!!

I actually have a copy of the Dwarf army book with this artwork, despite it being older than I am:

EDIT: Hooray all the best armies have at least 1 vote (apart from Greenskins)

Which is your favorite (outside the Lizardmen) you say? This will be a tough one...

Just kidding those abominations can burn

I chose high elves because dragons and they have very effective core infantry

Though I've never played WHFB I chose BRETTONIA since I love them in TWW

Just think, if more people were like you and had become inspired by Bretonnia’s awesomeness in Warhammer Total War when Warhammer Fantasy was around, GW might have just been pressured into writing that Bretonnian 8th Edition book that they were trying to avoid doing for the 5 years 8th Edition had been kicking around...

That’s a good bit less likely considering GW executed them, but there could be a spiritual successor of Bretonnia like Ossiarch Bonereapers succeeding Tomb Kings in terms of army roster. Perhaps they could be called ‘Knights of the Lady’ or something?

(Probably wishful thinking on my part :()

Out of the options I’d probably have to pick Ogre Kingdoms, only because they are the closest to Beastclaw Raiders (WHFB was before my time). I love the wintery aesthetics, and the models are undeniably awesome.

If we got a high fantasy version of the sci fi version of tomb kings, we might just get something. I don't see any harm in wishfully thinking!

And which of those did you vote for in the poll?

For the briefest moment I had lost faith in one of my favourite new members of the forum, but then I read....
I should have not doubted your virtue and valor. I salute you good Sir!! :D

I'm surprised your vote didn't go to WoC, Vampire Counts or The Empire! ;) Maybe I'll have to make a similar poll asking which army people most dislike (I might even include SCE in that one :p)

That's Mrs. NIGHTBRINGER's favourite army too! Great minds think alike.

That is where the Beastclaw Raiders came from! They are a cool army.

The Tomb Kings are perfect as is!

Speaking of Tomb Kings, where is @Killer Angel hiding. Have your voice be heard good sir!

Here I am, and with the thunderous roar of the desert winds, i can shout "Settra does not serve. Settra rules!".

If a 2nd vote would be possible, i would stand hard as a rock, alongside a dwarfs' line of defense. With my book of grudges, ready to erase them with gunpowder!
