I didn't see a section for house rules so I thought I'd post here.... I was thinking about lizards, and cold blooded, how they are really slow and sluggish in the morning, but as they warm up they get quicker.

This got me thinking on an interesting choice for the lizardmen. I thought it'd be way too hard to balance as an army-wide rule, but a creature around the equivelant of a Varghulf or Hydra would be cool I feel.

What my idea was that being cold blooded, its stats would increase over the course of the battle. In the first turn it would have I1, M4 and maybe low strength to represent it not hitting hard or fast. Then every lizardman turn the stats will increase until it has I6, M10 would bo too high so maybe M7 or 8, and higher strength all by turn 6. I think it would also be cool to have the rule of the carnosaur, where as soon as it wounds something it gains frenzy to represent it building up and getting strong as the battle went on. Maybe even increase its movement to the maximum if it loses a wound or two to represent it getting angry and defending itself.

I don't want to make it too complicated, but flaming attacks could also boost it to maximum maybe.

The image it gives me of a big, slow creature slowly getting faster and more deadly as the battle goes on and it begins killing really appeals. What do you guys think?

it is a neat idea, but I would think it would only really be a factor if the liz army was caught flat footed and unable to prepare for the battle...part of preparing for the battle would be warming up the blood as it were..

Kind of agree with fer here. Beside it makes me think of some sort of drowsy ogre/orc or somthing :p Besides, the ide of a creature who gets stronger for each round, makes me think of hydras and such creatures of chaos..
But you definetly has touched an interesting ide here. Maybe in some sort of special scenario match, I don't know...
As I see Lizardmen, they've been around for ages and has fought enough battles and has enough predatory instincts to don't get caught sleeping ;)
