I am playing a mini tourney this weekend. My first game is against a high elf player and I am pretty sure he is bringing a Star Dragon. This is my list: Slann with all spells and extra die, cup Skink Priest, EotG, Diadem, Scroll Scar Vet, la, shield, Scimitar of the Sun 10 Skinks skirmish with blowpipe 10 Skinks skirmish with blowpipe 21 Saurus Warriors - Full Command 16 Temple Guard - Full Command Hornet Sword 3 Terradons Stegadon 2 Salamanders 1 Salamnader with extra handler I am thinking I should take lore of the beast to handle the dragon? Some of my other opponents will be: Tomb Kings Dark Elves - I will probably have to face two hydras and the Ring of Hotek Orcs and Goblins Dwarves Also, I will be playing a team game vs a Dwarf High Elf list. My army is this: Slann with all spells and extra die, cup 10 Skinks skirmish with blowpipe 10 Skinks skirmish with blowpipe 15 Temple Guard - Full Command Hornet Sword 3 Terradons 1 Salamnader with extra handler Wood Elf Noble - Helm of the hunt, HoDA Wood Elf Noble - Wardancer Kindred Blade of Loec 8 Dryads 9 Dryads 6 Wardancers M C 10 Glade Guard I am thinking lore of life in this one to stop the dwarven shooting.
check out this post from our friend Dalkarius. Think he has put it down quite good for us here P.S. Remember that this was posted before 7th edition release for Lizzies, so you would surely like to tweak it a bit... Mostly it still gives you a nice summary of what you should bring to brace yourself.
Well I got a victory over the High Elves. It came out as a draw, but we were playing a scenario and I had more objectives than him. That means I am playing the dwarves in a little bit. I am kind of scared of all the shooting.
you got to remember it's is hard to kill an army with just shooting just keep advancing as fast as possible your EotG save will help alot with the shooting so keep it close to as many units as possible and your skirmishers are a -1 to hit so you can use them as moving cover -1 with a 5+ ward and they stay alive longer than you would think and if they get in range of slayers they are one of the best for killing them iron breakers and hammers are the really scary combat units to worry about they are really tough and have good armour reallly really good armour luckily you'll get the cahrge off they only get 6" charge
Well I lost to the dwarves. I didn't get to screen with my Skinks, as he had a hill in his deployment zone. It was really close though, I did kill all of his war machines and his runesmith. He had a really nasty block, of longbeards that had a cause fear banner and a rune that gave them double unit size, so he autobroke my big sarus. Luckily he couldn't run them down though.
