My High Elf friend decided to test me because my opponent next Tuesday is apparently using a Star Dragon, which I have never been able to kill before. So he tried to duplicate the fellows list, then changed it to form his own evil designs.

    His List:

Prince on a Star Dragon with a 2+ re-rollable Armor save and 4+ Ward save, Sword of Might and Gem of Courage.

Level 1 Wizard with x2 Dispel Scrolls

Level 1 Wizard with a Dispel Scroll that on a 4+ makes me forget that spell he stopped.

Two full units of Pheonix Guard with different levels of Magic Resistance. (20 men)

    FOUR RBT'S!

    Two units of Archers.

    My List:

Slann: BSB, Focus of Mystery (6 spells), The Focused Rumination (Extra di per spell), Transcendent Healing (Regen), Higher State of Consciousness (Immune to all non-magical attacks), Cupped Hands of the Old Ones, Divine Plaque of Protection, War Banner: 550

Skink Priest- Level 2, Plaque of Tepok, Amulet of Itzl= 435

    Terradons- x5= 150

    Stegadon= 235

Skink Chief- Stegadon, Glyph Neckalce= 320

    Ancient Stegadon: 275

    Skinks- x10= 50
    Skinks- x10= 50
    Skinks- x10= 50

    Chameleons- x5, Stalker= 66

    Chameleons- x5, Stalker= 66

Magic: HE's Both have Shield of Saphery

Lizardmen: Slann took Lore of Beasts, Priest rolled Second Sign, Celestial Shield, and Uranon's Thunderbolt.

Terrain: Two woods, one on the left and one on the right 12" from center. One hill in center of each deployment zone.

    Deployment: HE

Star Dragon behind wood on left, all 4 RBT's on hill with both Pheonix Guard in front and archers on both sides.

Lizardmen: Chameleons have one in each wood. The Slann was in the center with all 4 Stegadons to his left. The skinks had two units right of the Slann and one to the left of the Stegadons. Terradons across from Dragon.

    Turn 1: HE

Move his Star Dragon next to the hidden Chameleons to cause Terror, and the rest of his army held.

Magic: None get off the entire game, so for HE's I'll skip Magic Phase.

Shooting: Both RBT's manage to drop a total of 1 crewman from the Ancient Stegadon and the archers kill a Skink.

    Lizardmen:

Movement: My Chameleons pass their Terror and move towards his Dragon to shoot, the rest of my army moves 6" towards his main line. The Terradons fly nearby the Chameleons in woods but out of Terror range. Other Chameleons pop out to see archers on left. Slann advances 8" without fear.

Magic: The Slann manages to kill a few Archers with Crow's Feast, the special Scroll makes my Slann forget Beast Cower's, and Hunter's Spear kills 3 Pheonix Guard.

Skink casts Second Sign for 1 re-roll and casts Celestial Shield upon himself. Engine activates 5+ Ward.

Shooting: The surprising firepower of the regular Stegadons kills 4 Pheonix Guard in the untouched one, the Chameleons drop a few more archers, and the other Chamemelons land 2 wounds on the Star Dragon.

    Turn 2: HE

Movement: His Dragon moves behind my Stegadons.

Shooting: The RBT's manage to put 2 wounds on the Engine and a lucky crewman passes his ward on the Ancient.

    Lizardmen:

Movement: All of the Stegadons turn to face the Dragon and advance within Range, the Engine makes for the Slann and the Slann advances with all of the Skinks marching towards the Elven line. Chameleons on both sides move towards the battery. Terradons Drop Rocks on the left Archers, killing 3.

Magic: Hunter's Spear drops more Pheonix Guard.

Skink: Engine uses 5+ Ward again and gets off a Second Sign that gives me 3 rerolls.

Shooting: The Stegadons show no mercy. The Dragon takes a total of 4 wounds, 3 from the Chief's Giant Bow, 1 from the Blowpipes, and 1 from a javelin from the other regular stegadon (who's giant bow hit the rider that passed his Ward). Chameleons on the left kill a RBT crewman and the ones on the right drop the archers down to 1.

    Turn 3: HE

The Star Dragon, slowly but surely dying, charges the Engine in the rear in hopes to overrun into the Slann. The lone Archer charges the Chameleons, and the Pheonix Guard spread out to prepare for anything.

Shooting: A Crew member and one entire Skink unit from the left side perish. The Terradons are wiped off the face of the planet.

Combat: The Dragon and Rider only manage 2 wounds on the Ancient Engine of the Gods, whom in turn kills the monstrous Star Dragon. The brave, but shattered, Elf Lord passes his Break test and fights on.

The archer kills a Chameleon and ties up combat rez.

Lizardmen: The Stegadon horde turns back to the Pheonix Guard and stumbles in firing range. The skinks all move in front of the Pheonix guard, slowly being wittled down by shooting. The Chameleons on the left advance further at the Bolt Throwers.

Magic: A combination of the Crow's Feast and Hunter's spear greatly wounds both Pheonix guard, reducing one below 3/4's of their original side and finishing off the first rank of the other.

Engine uses Burning Ailment and inflicts one wound on the Elf Lord.

Shooting: Through Giant bows, javelins, and Giant Blowpipes the Pheonix Guard are crushed, losing half in the right unit and 2 away from half in the other.

Combat: The Elf Lord fails to cause any damage and flees due to outnumbered by a Terror causer, and his caught by the Engine.

    Turn 4:

HE: The Pheonix Guard charge the Skinks before them, whom both flee, the larger unit running into the Chief's Stegadon while the other stumbled in front of the Ancient Stegadon.

    Shooting: Nothing epic

Combat: The Pheonix Guard cause no wounds and loose 1 man, but win combat rez although the Stubborn Chief holds his ground.

    Lizardmen:

Movement: All of the Stegadons charge, sending the Ancient into the half unit's flank and sending the regular into the other Pheonix Guard's flank, crushing my opponents morale.

My Foe Surrenders! Yet another Massacre! I can only hope this luck lasts into next week!

    Thanks for reading, cheers.

    Good report :)
I thought the dragon might give you more trouble when he destroyed your Beast Cowers, but it got dealt with in almost a single turn. :jawdrop:
Although I think the celestial shield on the wizard unit / model wasn't doable after the last FAQ.
And regarding that issue, a Slann in a Temple Guard unit should be able to cast the shield on the unit because the unit is in his LoS?

Congrats on your star dragon scalp! I'm wonderous though on how you awoided to get shot to pieces by his BTs.. was it your wardsave, or just really bad diceing on his behalf?

Other than that, Your tactic with your chamelions and terries worked wonder!
    Well done!

p.s. did you have any use for your regen ever?

No I did not use my Regen that fight, and he rolled bad along with me making alot of Ward Saves. It was nice to see a freakin dragon die though, lol.

Great job brother. Way to use the chameleons also. I seem to be the only Lizard player in my area who love them.
