i love all the lizardmen figs except for the priests, i despise the figs for them, any ideas of how to easily convert another fig into a priest bearing in mind ive never converted anything

What!? The priest are among the best figs in the lizardmen range imo! Anyway here's a link to how I've done my priest, it's the one from the stegadon kit with added feathers http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hpho...1081485517_870495516_21061109_225839003_n.jpg

You could also take a normal skink and add som bits to him to make him look like a priest.
    Examples:
-the feathers from the saurus banner (you should have som spares)
-Make a necklace of shrunken heads. Or the small gold thingie's that are everywhere on the lizardmen sprues:

-Take the skinkhand with the sword, replace it with a javelin, clip off the spearhead and replace it with a skull an add feathers to get a staff.
-In the other hand give him a hand weapon

These are small things I can think off from the top of my head. Just add stuff that make him look like a shaman or such. Take inspiration from aztekian and inkian priests.

    GL!

Wow, I really like the priest models. What's so off putting about them?

No problemo, please tell us how it goes. I'm more than willing to help if you run into some problems. Being an old ork player, kit bashing is my second nature. Back when I collected orks we hadn't any models for hardly anything, you had to convert the special options.

    Nice!

Personally it got me inspired to make a post over at the warhammer forum in the cheaphammer battalion thread which is about getting the most out of a battalion box. This is what I came up with from the lizardmen one.

    --
1 Scar vet on foot (converted from a saurus or temple guard model with lots of bits and pieces)

1 Old blood on cold one (converted from cold one rider)

1 Skink Priest (converted from a skink, add feathers from the saurus standard and shrunken heads)

    19 Saurus Warriors

    10 temple guards

    5 cold one cavalry

2 salamanders (converted from 2 cold ones, use the leader heads for uniqueness and make spines from spearheads. Could also equally easy be converted to razorbacks)

2x3 skink handlers (skinks with javelins)

5x cameleons (cut of the crests from the remaining skinks and give them blowpipes)

Kinda shows that you don't need to buy all the expansive stuff from gw, a lot you can make yourself.
