aha wood elfs most rangers jou need a EotG and maby a carnosaurus for the oldblood or no oldblood but a slann for more magic you can magic him dead
yes i guess your right but i don't have a carnosaur yet so i guess i use the slan ( edit i forget to put my scar veteran in the list light armour shield sword of battle )
I would go for a slann, both to counter his treesinging and to try to fry some archers and trees at a range.. and another thing I would do: go for a standard bearer insted of a champion in your saurus units. They pay their wieght in gold(hmm silly said as they don't really are that heavy ) when you get in CC, you would like all CC you can get. He will probably have had the time to thin out your lines pretty well... And an ancient krox is not at all worth the pts IMHO. The cloak on your skink priest is also kind of strange. What whould a lev 1 wizard earn in having line of sight. Make him a scroll caddy like the other one, or give him a diadem... If you also drop 3 Coldone cavalry, and some of the command, you could field a unit of 4 terradons, and they are some of the best anti-shooty-WE units IMO
Wood Elves - tactica: Magical attacks helps vs. their forest spirits (dryads, treekin & treeman). Personally, I would go for an oldblood w/carnosaur. Put the Blade of Realities on him, and hunt treemen and treekindred. It should not be very difficult if you roll average, and they also only have Ld 8, meaning they should fail 28 % of their Ld-tests. If not, a Slann with magic is also a good option, but its difficult to kill treemen and such with him, so then I would go for dryads and wild riders (they hit hard, but are easy to kill). EOTG helps. That ward save can be useful against their shooting, and the power that causes damage, inflicts d6 S5 hits on forest spirits. Skink screen is a must vs. their shooting. If you get over the field alive, shoot their archers with your poisoned blowpipes, they die easily (with T3 and no armour). 1 important rule: Stay out of forests if your opponent has any wizards! Tree-singing is dangerous for units like skinks and such. Salamanders are not a good option against WE imo, unless they have eternal guard. But yet again, then you only have maybe 1 or 2 units to shoot at. Razordons are much better in this case, being able to shoot their many small units. The terradons u should use to kill scouts, waywatchers if they have any. Most waywatcher units are 5-6 models, 4 terradons should kill 5-6 with their rocks. If your opponent has many glade guards (archers), u should give your COC Burning Standard of Chotec. Hope that helped a bit.
ok the main problem here is that you cant compete with the welfs with manouvrebility! and as lizardmen player you really want to becouse they have such great units for that. ie shooting skirmishing M6 units!!! USE THOSE! for the points you have left if you dump atleast 2 units saurus take razordons, terradons and/or another unit of kroxies ( for chopping up wood)
I would agree with most people here. To vs against Wood Elves TOO many Saurus Warriors, Wood Elves A. Don't want to be in combat with most units or War Dancers and many others.. Also I would take Steggie with EOG and stay outa of Combat. Also tree singing is the most broken spell if used right, move forest in front of your units so you can't charge. So my 2 cents is this, Steggie with EOG!!!! Slann! Good amount of Skrimishers, those Razzies, also make Cold Ones into 5, and have one unit of 18 Saurus. Also Temple Guard is SOO good to get units stuck in combat, 2+ armor save + Stubbon+ Immune to Psyche, and anything you want with Discplies I like taking the 4 and having a Unit that is Terrior Stubbon Immune to Psyche and 2+ is a Steam Tank right there with Spells.
