I'm building a 1,000-point force of lizards, the plan so far is two 20-man saurus units, a stegadon, and a skink priest. In 40K we almost always protect the general by throwing him into a unit so he can't be shot at, and it looks like the same is true in FB. So should I throw together a skink skirmisher unit to hide the priest in? Is there a better unit to use for this, or should he go solo?

    thanks!

Skirmishers will work. Cohorts work as well. If it were me, I would also take a skink chief to put in the unit as well. I would also take full command on those units. That way, in a challenge, the priest will not have to take a challenge until both the unit champion and the skink chief have died.

By "cohort," do you mean ranked-up 5-point skinks?

Yes. you could even put a Krox in there. The unit would cause fear then.
