Hey guys just a quick question, if I have a horde of skinks so I can fight in three ranks can I put the kroxigor in the third rank, still make their attacks and not be able to be targeted as they are not in base contact with a skink in base contact with a kroxigor? Also would I lose my fear as the front skinks are not in base contact with a kroxigor.

    Thanks

    No you cannot.

Don't have my books with me, but I'm fairly certain you cannot.

Spawn-kin rule: "Whenever you are required to workout the mixed unit's frontage or ranks (and therefore supporting attacks and rank bonus) count as if the footprint of the entire mixed unit was filled with skinks" Lizardmen Pg 38.

So Kroxigor in the 2nd rank actually take up the 2nd and 3rd rank. If you have a "3rd" rank of Kroxigor, then they are actually in the 4th and 5th ranks of the unit. So, only the front most rank of Kroxigor get supporting attacks.

Ah, I thought you were talking about running a Horde of Skrox with something like 6+ Kroxigor (forcing the 6th Kroxigor into the "3rd" rank)

    Neither tactic works unfortunately.
