Question Regarding Images (Information + Poll)

There is a few things we are planning to improve on the forum as time allows it.

One of these things is to add the ability to upload the images directly to the forum, instead of having to upload them to another website first, and then linking them to your post.

Another step we are considering together with that, is creating a batch script that would go through every post in this forum, and if a image is linked it would try to copy it (download to the server) and then replace the link with the image stored on the server.

In this regard I have created a poll, you can select two choices. Please note that I would like you to select one of the two first choices, and one of the two last choices.

Also feel free to add a comment with what you think about this.

The idea is to collect some information if this is even a functionality that you guys want before we start the work with implementing it.

Please note that it will take a few months before we get around to add the feature, as we can only afford spending downtime in between projects to do updates to the forum. Hopefully that is understandable.

I'm good with direct uploads and storing, will probably make things easier.

If possible can the pic codes be switched for img, it still catches me out from time to time (if it's a hassle then don't worry about it).

Being able to do both would be good.

Also could we get an alternate colorscheeme with some lighter fonts ?
(seriously this dark grey is hard to read at times)
(especialy when composing new messages, it's even darker)

I prefer linking because it allows me to keep all of my pictures in a single location. I tend to post things on multiple forums, so a central repository (where I only have to upload once) for my pictures is convenient. That having been said, I don't mind if you make a local copy for performance reasons and what not.
