Greetings all of my fellow lizard players, I hate to make my first post a plee for help but I have a game coming up at 1500 point army lists and I'm going to be partnered with someone at random with dice rolls, I'm hoping to get some helpful tips on how to try and cover my bases to be effective no matter who I team with. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

To start off, give us a list of what you have available (model wise for the list). Next, what are the potential pairings? What is your play style (do you like magic or combat heavy lists)?

As for a list of what I have to be blunt I have functioning unit sizes of each type aside from terradons and razordons. And when I mean random partners I mean I won't have a clue till game time. See my problem?

I prefer all skink lists. Here is what I would take:

    Slann BSB (banner of discipline)
    Lore of Life
    Focus of mystery (all spells)
Focused rumination (extra die for each spell)

    skink priest
forbidden rod (d6 dice added to power pool, suffer d3 wounds)
opal amulet (+4 ward vs first wound)
Take the signature spell for heavens (will protect you from war machines a litte)

On the priest you could also take cube of darkness instead of forbidden rod.

26 skinks with2 Kroxigor with full command

20 skinks cohorts with full command (I prefer these to skirmishers. I would line this unit up in 2 ranks of 10 so that I can fire a full 20 shots then stand and shoot another 20)

Temple guard x 19 with war banner (+1 combat rez)

    3 units of 5 chameleons

2 units of salamanders (extra handlers if you can work em in)

    This comes in at 1498

That's an interesting list. Would it be possible to run the slann and skink priests with saurus warriors?

I think they would have to go outside the unit due to base sizes. But,if not, while in the unit, they would have to go in the first and second rank. That is not really a problem until you get into combat. Then you will be limited by the slann being in the second rank. Temple guard give him the ability to rise up out of the unit and cast all of his spells (while in combat even). Saurus do not.

I like the temple guard for mine. Give it a try with the saurus. If they have to go outside the unit, you will still get the look out sir at 2+ for the priest and the slann.

If you put the slann in the saurus unit, the unit will not be stubborn either. In that case, I would make room for the crown of command on the slann.

Skink priests don't have to go outside units due to base sizes (as other races have to do) as Lizardmen book has a rule on different size bases that is different from main rule book and allows not exact multiple bases inside a unit.

Saurus blocks are not a good place for slann, better running them solo...

Sorry I didn't mean it that way, I love my slann in a tguard unit, it was more looking for more muscle cause I may be dealing with warriors of chaos.
