I got my first box of skinks! Woo! They are my first lizardmen models and I'm slowly building up to my thunderous herd list of just skinks and stegadons. Anyway, I've started cleaning and assembly but I'm starting to get the feeling it's going to be a huge pain to get these guys to rank up! Any suggestions?
In honesty they aren't too bad, Notice how they lean to the left or right? If you make the effort so that leftys go behind leftys, there won't be an issue at all!
I was about to say that I don't. I make the fron rank and pile the rest in the middle hahaha BUT, then i realised that all mine have javelins or blowpipes and I thnk the weapons are the main issue - if you give the little buggers hand weapons then it might not be a problem?
I ranked mine up while assembling them, then note under their base which one goes where, and note the same number on their movement tray, only a bit of extra work for mucho reward !
This is a little embarrassing, but my (new model) skinks don't have any arms so they're easier to rank up I'm very very indecisive, and told myself that I would probably need to change from blowpipes to javelins for some dumb reason... oh wait My models used to have blowpipes, then 7th ed came out and I noticed they could rank up in skrox with javelins, plus 8th ed javelins are terrific. Long story short, they look like nicely painted tadpoles that have legs (usually with a sign saying which weapons they're holding)
JamJar - If you buy a box of Skinks, you can fix this since the sprues come with extra arms. You'll have enough arms for your new Skinks and can pull some spares out for your old ones too. In a pinch, goblin arms work okay and goblin kits come with LOTS of spare limbs so you can probably get them from an O&G player for nothing or practically nothing.
Old 6th edition (?) maybe even 5th are smaller and are the easiest models to rank up, ever. Granted, they don't look as nice. But they fit the bill. And besides, they will come of the board in a rapid pace anyway The Hunted
