hey guys another of my "not sure" threads

basically i LOVE the razordon models, words cannot describe it

but i cant fit them anywhere in my lists without removing either a blasterdon or an ancient steg with sharpened horns

in my 1000pt list ive got the steg but i dont know if itd be worth it cause all the points it costs but at 1000pts i guess itd be pretty hard to deal with

id rather remove the blasterdon i think but it doesnt cost much compared to the razors, 3 packs with an extra snack comes to about 133% cost of the blasterdon.

    what are your thoughts??

I like them too. I am fighting myself to not buy a box of them. The FaQ making them toughness 3 definitely improves their effectiveness.

I'm planning on trying out one or two units of 2 packs which will act as screening units standing in front of enemy units to try get a turns shooting and a stand and shoot. Hopefully holding the unit up to allow me to get a charge off with the advantage

Im planning to use razors in conjunction with stegs. The razors screen, (also potentially stopping cannonballs) shoot and take the charge, whittling down the enemy for the steg to hit home and mop up.

That said, I don't think you can rely on less than 4 as anything better than a flanking unit.

    Personally I wouldn't run them in 1000pts.

You could only take a max of 3, which doesn't provide enough weight of fire for their role IMO. Also your blasterdon (depending on how many skink priests your packing) could help immensely with adding some good firepower in the magic phase, especially with the absence of a slann.

They really need a slaan with high magic for the +D3 to BS.
Or they need to be in a big enough block where shooting is secondary to the melee role.

So all in all im thinking of removing the blasterdon mainly because i dont think its as tough as it should be but then i also need to get rid of something else in my list to make up the last 23.5ss, i could remove my skink skirms but they are 40ss so i could use the points on something else but then would i be lacking the ranged support??? what do yous think?
