Yeah, looks like that's what everyone else is saying too. High Elves are supposed to get their new stuff next month. After that I'm sure we'll see lots more LM speculation. I'm hoping sooner than later. :meh:

GW hates the wood elves. no new books in 2013. 9th Ed. will be out before they get a book i bet :)

If the Wood Elves and Bretts don't get a 9th edition book, I don't expect them make it to 9th edition.

they can't compete under 8 ed. rules. their costs and abilities are too limited if facing one of the top tier armies

They do have a fun fluff. I like the lizard background too. I feel that although we are good, the dragons are just waiting to plow us into the ground.

    High elves are next!

then I think 40k then it'll be our turn!! (read some rumours on faeit 212 too. inferring here since the rumours said for WHFB its HE and Lizzies this year)

I've seen and heard that rumour too. HE then 40k then LM. I really, really, hope we don't lose rumination.

Tbh rumination is comped out in 90% of comp packs that I play under so if it went it wouldn't be the end of the world

They are removing things that breaks the magic phase so I would expect to lose rumination and have serious changes to a slann

As long as Slann are still powerful in the magic phase like the background says they should be. There will definitely be changes made, probably an increase in points cost and a new system for disciplines

Looking at other books, the volume of magic items has been cut down drastically, in the range of 30+ to less than 10, so I would expect to lose most of our items especially cupped hands as it is broken
Which is a shame as thinking about it, I use many of them regularly:
Cupped hand, cube of darkness, plaque of tepok, ixi Grubbs, divine plaque, VotFF, burning blade, cheaper war banner, banehead e.t.c

Although it will result in the return of enchanted shields to lizardmen lists

maybe the new 40k tau empire means a new fantasy lizardmen army?
gw already did this: 40k army than the similar fantasy army
(orks-orcs and goblins, necrons-tomb kings, chaos daemons-demons of chaos, chaos space marines-chaos warriors...)

Perhaps, but May is almost certainly going to be High Elves. The rumor thread over at Ulthuan.net is fairly hopping after seeing the pictures linked a couple posts up. I hope the rumors about Lizardmen being next after HE is true! That way all of my collected armies would be 8th edition by Autumn.
