What are some good tactics for these Guys? I like the Idea of running lots of skinks a stegadon or 2 maybe some terradons ext. I play against beastmen and Daemons so I'm not sure how well a list like this would far but i was curious any advice? Also we usually play 2500 points.
Well.. if you insist on running all-skink, then I'd definately suggest putting some skrox units in there as your main infantry and even some krox specials. But going up against a beastmen bestigore unit of str 4's, minataurs, or centigores are going to be tough without some muscle and ranks. Beastmen move at a 5, so even though you can still move faster, 1" isn't a lot of breathing room. Poison shots at a hit and run, drawing them into a flank position with a steg would be good IMO. Salamanders are great against high save units.. even better against those without. Not entirely sure, but Razardons may be good here too. Since the majority of Beastmen only have 1 wound.. the more poison shots you can get on them the thinner their herds will get. Just be wary of their chariots. Sorry for the jumbled mess, these were just some thoughts and opinions as Im winding down for the night.
I think this could be very viable way to build your army. Just remember to bring enough skirmishers and/or terradons for redirectors. As said skorx units should be the backbone of your army for two reasons: they are core choises which you need the 25% and they are actually quite good combat units. Bring plenty of salamanders as said. They will perform well in almost any situations. As for characters, I don't know if it'll break your theme too much but I would definately take a slann for the obvious reasons. If you think it's necessary you could take a skink priest to support your slann but that would be the only characters I would take. Skink chiefs are just a bit too weak compared to their cost in my opinion. Just easy points for your opponent. BR Agrem
All skink armies can be quite powerful, i've seen more than a few come out top in tournaments. But yes I think a Slann is a must, against beastmen and daemons i would probably favour razordons. Sticking a skink chief on steggy with the 2d6 impact hits lance quite nicely too when you can pull it off, the strength 6 should make short work of bestigors. Centigors, just poison them, they are fast and hard hitting though, so a small unit of skinks to drag them out the way is your best option. I tend to field a unit of 12 Krox just because I can. But I wouldn't advise it lol, they are not as good as minotaurs and are the same points.
