I saw a lot in the leaks that Salamanders lost the auto panic check ability but I noticed that their Spout Flames ability says that they fire using the same rules as a fire thrower but with a different profile. In the Fire Thrower rules on page 114 of the BRB: "A unit suffering any casualties must take a Panic test." So, they should still cause an auto panic check, right? I hope so anyway.
I would say yes. The only thing changed from the fire thrower rules is what happens when a misfire is rolled.
ohhh i think yes at the moment that sally works like flame thrower... auto panic is back !!! hell yeah
Muahahahaha opponents beware you're not off the hook that easy. I used a salamander against an all night gobblin army once... The panic checks are priceless... I felt kind of dirty though...
Very true which if you think about would probably benefit us more. Chop down some of those infantry blocks and even the playing field once our not so great WS3 units come charging in to finish them off (hopefully).
yes, but at (dont have the book in front of me) 15 points chepaer, I think the razordons pulled away on this one. they are the same S4, and has a longer range, i guess the real down side is our hits our based on the scatter, but hey they are guaranteed hits after all.
sorry yeah i forgot they used grapeshot rules, nvm... ok salamanders win lol I will miss the -3 armor
thats good to hear that panic test are still there im just disapointed further with the writer, he had a golden chance to bring back old unused units (and with that bring money to GW) but it seems he failed, razordons im not even thinking to buy them and they could have made a good CC monster insted another shooter.
My question about salamanders is this: In the last book it said to resolve the hit of one salamander before going on to the next. I don't see that in this book or the flamethrower rules (and why would it be if its only one shot), so does that mean we get to check all the templates from a group and count all the models underneath before rolling to wound. Can't see that lasting if true, but maybe I missed something somewhere.
Omg, another fail... if its not said to check one by one then you have to shoot all at once because units shoots the same time. Sadly this means we can shoot only one unit now :-(
