Having some trouble wrapping my head around the new CC rules for beasts and handlers.

As I understand it the skinks rank up behind and get their supporting attacks against anything in B2B with the Sallie. This is easy enough.
The enemy cannot direct attacks at the handlers?
All attacks will go against the WS and T of the sallie?
Are wounds then saveable by the 5+ AS of the sallie?
Finally - Do you distribute wounds in CC as in shooting?

I can see why it may have been done if that is in fact the case. The entire unit is lost if the beast dies and the handlers represent an additional 4 wounds that the sallie might have so having them take the place of a wound on the beast effectivly makes it last longer.

    Cheers

All attacks are against the monster, so use the WS, Toughness, and Armor of the salamander. After the number of unsaved wounds is determined, then you randomize and see who is killed.

Unfortunately the Salamander rules say that against shooting and impact hits, you randomize the hits first, then roll for wounds. This overrides the normal rule for monsters and handlers, which would have you randomize after wounds.

Melee - Wound vs salamander then randomize
Shooting and Impact - randomize hits, then roll to wound
