Salamanders on the cheap?

Howdy, I was wondering if anyone knew some reasonably easy methods to get Salamander Hunting Packs from other plastic kits, as opposed to the single mini GW sells. I need 4 in the army I'm planning, and don't really want to spend $200 to get them, so any advice you can give me would be great.

i use 40k kroot hounds with tails made from GS. you can find pics in the link in my signature (not sure what page)

I did just what tsunami suggested and made mine out of kroot houds from 40k. The problem for me was they broke all the time because of the thin legs, so when i found some real sallies at a hobby store for bogo, i replaced them. Ive also seen alot of people convert them out of cold ones (new and old).

I don't know if anyone has done this, but I think the Flesh Hounds of Khorne would look quite good as Salamanders. And you get in a pack of 5 which is still cheaper than two Salamanders...

Yeah I've seen them somewhere i think, the models do look pretty good, are they the right size though?
as in would they look right on the base with size and all?
