Does the salamanders shot count as a breath weapon? 'Cause if so, then I'm never taking them again in 8th Edition.
Nope, not a breath weapon, its in the same category as the flame cannon and the warpfire thrower, without actualy being a warmachiene.
OH THANK GOD! If it was, that would mean it wouldn't be able to shoot more than once per game. Which would suck. A LOT.
Salamanders are a must in 8th edition. In every game that I have played to date, they are the MVP. I usually field a unit of 3. They are great for dealing with hordes.
Yeah, they are going to be utterly BRUTAL in this edition! Sad thing is once our book comes out they will either get a price hike or maybe be nerfed a little :/
salamanders should be OK for dealing with hordes. although my previous experience with them was, that they eat their handlers for the most time, instead of shooting but fielding 1-2 in a 1K game seems to be quite useful against hordes. it is a pity, that 4+ needs to be rolled for models partially under the template.
Under 8th edition rules, ALL models under the template are hit! That is what makes them so useful against hordes now.
Oh! missed that one. thx for correcting me. well, in that case, 3 sallies coming up next game not to mention the avoided discussions with the opponent about which model is covered completely and which not ...
salamanders + doom and darkness is an awesome combo when dealing with hordes or basically anything you can't afford to get to you. also flame cage is quite nice, kills from salamander, unit runs, extra hits from flame cage. also, why are we talking about a new book?
