ok how do they work, the rules are just wierding me out, im new so please help.
 
You're going to have to be a little bit more specific than that. Exactly which part don't you get? Have you read both the LM army book and the main rulebook relevant sections thoroughly? If so, which bit are you unsure about?

Also, moving this to rules help.
 
Some stuff I didnt know at first.
Not actually a breath weapon so he can't spray fire in close combat.
If its a unit of 2 salamanders and either of them misfire neither fire and d3 skinks eaten.
You can march and shoot
By doing any damage you cause a panic test (not 100% sure)
They are awesome and if worst comes to worse its a decent strength monster in close combat.
 
You mean can't spray fire in CC.
Anyway a sallamnder shoots exactly as it says in the army book, not only that but since it is a skirmisher it can march and shoot.
 
It's basicly the Lizardmen version of the warpfire thrower or the flame cannon.
 
Except it gets to shoot on the march, so its up to 12" better ;)
 
well i dont know if my version of the armybook is the latest but i am having trouble with the range of the shots, it says roll the artilary dice (i assume the one with the numbers) to find range, but dosent that make it unreliable when trying to his stuff?

Yes indeed, you do not know the exact range but with the size of the template you have a good chance of at least getting some of the enemy unit hit.
 
It's the flame template. The trick is to position them about 7 inches from a target. Then make sure you target where the it covers the most victims.
