Hello everyone, names Mr.Crocodile, Croc or Sergio for short. I'm a Spaniard, 19 (about to become 20 on the 27th) and studying Geology (working towards eventually becoming a paleontologist). I've had a life-long obssesion with reptiles and dinosaurs. And as such, Kaiju cinema, monster movies new and old and fantasy setting such as Warhammer have been always close to my heart. I am a writer, both of origianl works which I'm yet to publish and of fanfiction (which you can find here in ao3) and am currently woring on a longer series set in Lustria alongsides other fan content such as maps. I have dwelled into miniature painting with limited success but it was Total War: Warhammer 2 what finally pushed me into dwelving deeper into this fandom.
Hello Croc! Welcome to Lustria! We've got quite the fluff and story section on the forum. I know somebody that will be very happy to receive reinforcements... @Scalenex
Welcome to Jurassic Park! Great to have another dino-phile join us! Make sure you take a good look around the website and (as I said on the other thread) join us on the next short story contest! Enjoy!
By the way! I remembered something you all (fellow reptile lovers) might enjoy. This is my Russian Tortoise, Efe: In their outdoors enclosure: I would share pics of the terrarium too, but since I'm getting a new (bigger) one soon, I'd rather just share images of that one once I furnish it-
wow, that is massive! Speaking of reptiles, I've got a pair of aquatic turtles that i'm planning to move into a bigger aquarium, and then i will probably acquire a leopard gecko morph
Welcome along! What an introduction you made. Good mapbuilding skills and nice to see a fluff enthousiast join the ranks. Grrr, Imrahil
Thank you so much! I'm very happy you all were so supportive of my mapping efforts. Lore/fluff and world building are something I love doing. Both my original novel I'm working on "Letter of the Serpents" and my main fanfiction project "On the Shoulders of Titans" each have 50+ pages long annexes and atlases about their respective settings, with maps, illustrations, dossiers, etc... I just love it when a good story is accompanied by that kind of content!
If you love stuff like that you have to read some of @Scalenex' threads, he loves to do world building as well.
I already plan on reading his and many other's threads, but there's a lot of content to chip away at, and sadly between my own projects and university my time is limited.
Welcome @Mr.Crocodile, always good to have more fluff writers join our small but growing tribe! Love your tortoise, I didn't know there were tortoises in Russia (would have thought it'd be too cold for them).
Actually, the name has a funny story behind it! Because they mostly aren't native to Russia. The species itself Testudo horsfieldii) mostly comes from central Asian countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, etc... But they only became common as pet animals during the Soviet–Afghan War. Apparently Russian soildiers whose service was ending would grab a few just before leaving to keep as pets or to sell in Europe. Which is why we call them Russian,
Waiting fo me taking pictures of the turtles, in the meantime here's some pics of the geckos! It's a friend of mine (an AoS player, BTW) that raises and sell them, so i'll pick mine from him.
