for you football fans out there, i've been working on a couple of Super Bowl XLV themed Saurus in honour of the big day on Sunday.
Here's a couple of pics - still a lot more detailing to do, but a general idea.

I like the black and yellow one, but if you want it to stand out more start with the scales as the orange foundation paint colour, then build up to bright yellow.

The only thing I know about the so called superbowl is what I learned from Ace Ventura. So not much. Any football game where you need a full suit of armour is kinda wussy in the opinion of an AFL fan. :)

I really enjoyed looking at those models!!! Great creative work!!!

@ Strewart: American Football isn't so much about the contacts, but the strategy. Since it's a sequence sport, there's actually a lot going on strategy wise and each play can be very different. I guess you could compare this to an acutal game of Warhammer. Both coaches (the generals) deploy their team (army) on their respective side of the field. Each play (turn) sees different formations, run and pass pattern and defensive coverage.

I'm french-canadian and I've been a big fan of American Football for years. I never really watched the sport for the contacts. I really enjoy the strategy, the team effort and the individual effort. You've got some great players that can change a game by themselves but more often then not, your team is as strong as it's weakest link.

I'm sorry this turned into such an off-topic wall of text. Once again really nice work on those saurus, hopefully, the Steelers end up winning their 3rd Superbowl in recent years!

    Thanks for the comments everyone!

Cool thanks, i'll need to pick up a Iyanden Darksun, thinking of doing some Dark Elves in black and yellow.

Luck, basically. started with a green oval , tried to put the white G in, but screwed it up both times and had to refill in with green to make the G. one side i'm happy with, the other side looks like a C to me. I like my Steelers logo though, lot of shaking trying to put those dots in the right spots!

Thanks, I'm pretty happy with how they turned out.

UPDATE: a few very minor details to do, but basically done and ready for the game!
    Green Bay, from the left.

from the right. Teeth look pretty funky from that close, human eye they look OK though i swear!

and right. Should really do another coat of Golden Yellow on the scales.

Thats why I suggested put an orange foundation down first. At the moment you are doing yellow straight onto black, so it will take a lot of coats for it to look like bright yellow. If you put the orange down first, it is a good base for the yellow to build on and will add a bit of shading to the scales. Black and yellow go very well together!

SeBM, I guess I don't understand the strategies that go on then. I have actually watched a few games and couldn't see the appeal, it was, as you say, very stop-start, almost turn based. I found the camera work didn't make the game easy to follow, but probably because I'm not used to it.

And yeah AFL is sort of a mix of rugby, gaelic and soccer. Very very athletic with good ball skill required on top.

When I started watching, I remember not understanding the game. It took me quite a while to see all the subtle details that make the game interesting. You are right, it's a turn based sport. One of the most interesting part of the game is usually the last 3 minutes of a close game when the losing team goes into a no huddle offense to prevent the winning team from changing personnel and take advantage of the coverage they had on the last play.
