Hey guys. So I'm unfamiliar with fighting Daemons, but I seem to remember they have a lot of flaming attacks? Or are these attacks just called flaming, but without the flaming special rule?

I'm debating whether I want to use a Scar-vet in a Saurus block to up combat rez (AHW + some survivability), or running solo with Dragonbane Gem.

Dragonbane would probably be useless in a block is my thinking, as these potentially flaming attacks would never hit him anyways?

    Thanks for any insight!

Flaming attacks are rare in the latest Daemon book. The Warpflame special rule isn't flaming. Just load up on armour save and your Saurus character will be set to beat any Herald (hero-level character) unless a Khorne one gets lucky with Killing Blow but there isn't much you can do about that.

Kill the big daemons with magic and shooting. If you get an Oldblood with 1+ rerollable and 4+ ward he'll probably last a while though.

Their Skullcannon is flaming, if I remember correctly. So if you are running your character solo, I would recommend some flaming protection in case your opponent tries to snipe him.

Correct, I forgot about that one. Great for a Saurus riding a Cold One as you can get 1+ armour easily along with 2+ against the cannon.

    A Scar-Vet build could be:
    Cold One
    Light Armour
    Dragonhelm
    Dawnstone
    Other Trickster's Shard
    Great Weapon

If needed, I'd run him like that in a unit of foot Saurus too.

    Oo.. Second question.

Any tips for combating the flying chariots? I don't fancy rippers getting a charge as they will have to be facing forward (so the chariot could fly away and then I'm stuck long-range charging chaff).

Could a trio of Terradons take one down?

    Thanks as always!

    That's our counter?

Do Razordons work? Ancient steg with blowpipes? Flying skink chief? Or is Rippers all we got?

I´ve used the flying chariot myself, for starters It´s a chariot so In can´t march. It´s only got a 6+ 5++ save. From the front you will be facing 9 str4 attacks.
The most powerful unit In their book Is Beast of Nurgle, you can equip a unit of temple guard with banner of eternal flame but I would prefer not to fight a big unit of BoN at all.
They had a couple of great boosts compared to the last book one being upped from I1 to I2. They should be your first target.
Bring flaming attacks, Daemons have no access to 2+ wards against flaming so It´s risk free.

    Thanks tor!

Are flaming attacks good against a lot of their units? Or only BoN?

Still not sure how to counter that flying chariot. Might break down and try Rippers

To be honest, something being good just against BoN Is enough, they are one of the best units In the game.
If he deploys a unit of plaguebearers with a Herald 5 wide then It probably have regen, and if he deploys it like a horde probably poison on 5+

A cowboy with, dawnstone, and dragonhelm and perhaps a greatwpn should be a good investment. Keep him In bsb range and you should be able to tie up the Beasts. They are just strength four but put out an insane amount of wounds and Is stupidly resilient.
