    Hi guys!

I'm completely new to Age of Sigmar and got my self the Seraphon Start Collecting Box.

I'm currently building the army (doing quite a bit of conversion so it will take some time ^_^) and I was wondering if it was worth it to magnetise my saurus warriors to switch between clubs and spears. I've read that the best weapon is the spear but I was wondering if I should give myself the ability to switch in case the clubs became better after some rulechanges.

Is it worth the effort or sould I not bother?

IMO not worth it as in most cases you will probably play spears anyway and if you don't, the difference isn't _that_ big.

If you plan to go Fangs of Sotek with at least 90 Saurus Warriors then it might worth future proofing them. However, for this edition spears are what you always want unless you are running units of less than 20.

I run all my guys with clubs. i'd magnetize them if you don't mind the hassle, but the idea of magnetizing 90 saurus warriors did not sound fun to me.

I'm currently in the process of magnetizing some saurus. What I've decided is I'm going to magnetize just 7 saurus. If I'm going to run a group of 10 warriors, I'll want them to have clubs. The musician and the banner dont have weapons. And I have made a alpha for both spears and clubs. With 7 warriors, I can give them clubs and have a champion team. If I want to add them to a larger group of spears, they they can easily be added.

Personally i would only magnetize a few special units because the model feels way better if you glue it (not so fragile) also the painting will probably be better with a solid model.

    Thanks for the replies guys!

I havent decided which battalion I wanna build to first, FoS picked my interested as it uses quite a few units from the SCB, and I do wanna use my carnosaur ^_^

I might go the route of magnetizing a small group of them, like 10-20.

Side question, when summoning, is it ever worth summoning saurus? and if so in smaller units of 20 where the clubs would shine?

I don't see many good reasons to summon Saurus, except maybe if you don't own any Skinks or if you really have a lot of Saurus specific buffs in your army.

Often summoned units are just chaff, and Skinks are better chaff than Saurus, and cheaper to summon.

But yeah, a unit of 10 or 20 (while not optimal) can be decent if you have your buffing heroes close by. And in those small numbers hand weapons can be better than spears.

The only situation I can think of is that you need bodies to hold an objective but the bodies also need to be able to put up something resembling a fight. Saurus warriors are the only other summon that bring in a decent amount of bodies, and unlike skinks they actually stand a chance of hurting a target without being horde-size. And yeah, in this case you'd want clubs.

O and possibly on certain battlefields where space is a concern I guess, though that'd be more for narrative driven games.
