8th Ed. SCGT comp

    So I'm a little bit late to this particular train, but has anyone taken a look at the SCGT comp pack? It looks pretty solid over all, and having run through my regular Lizardman, Dark Elf and my opponents High Elf list, found I had to make some difficult decisions and change things around in ways I wouldn't have normally.

    What are our thoughts on the Lizardmen comp? I think its just about right over all, although I'm bemusd by the decision to limit Skink Priests. Is there a broken OP Skink Priest combo that I'm not aware of?

    The comp seems fine, it heavily favours one party slann over 2 bare bones slann. 2 single salamanders write themselves into the list as do 2 terradons and 2 chamo skink units. 10 ranked skinks dont cost until the 4th unit so 3 of those go in as well. Add your 2 cowboy scar vets and give the slann his disciplines, one block of saurus and job done.

    Of course you can tailor this however you like.

    The limit of skink priests is to limit dirt cheap move 6 redirectors, but he forgot jungle swarms :D . The limit also forces the scroll onto the slann unless you want to take a huge risk( no scroll :jawdrop: ) or lose something else( take a skink preist).

    Agreed. Doesn't seem like a terrible comp. They list Death, but not the Bane Head. Nothing against Cupped Hands either. Interesting.

    Yeah, the Skink limit is probably to discourage you from taking a scroll caddies. Tooled up Slann with Becalming, Rumination, and Mystery with Cupped Hands and a couple Priests with Cube of Darkness and D-Scroll would put you at somewhere around 7 points. Gives you a beefy magic phase and beefy defense. But then you have to cut out a bit of other fun stuff.
