Celestial Demons confirmed I guess. What the hell happened in the void to turn us into lawful good outsiders?

So essentially, "No Lizardmen, you are the demons."

Well, at least we didn't get a stupid name out of the deal. Better then Steamhead Duardin.

I suppose I saw us as pure neutral before, maybe Lawful Neutral or Neutral Good... now, I'm not sure. Hmm..

    ........in Ghur? realm of beasts?
How about all the celestial wrappings we got ourselves into?
    Might be the scenario.

We were pretty much the definition of Order before.
    Neutral all the way!
Great Mazdamundi would not flinch wiping entire civilizations if the plan dictated it, so good or lawful is out :p

Seeing as our PDF says lizardmen are made of Azyrite energy, I am pretty sure it's the scenario.

It will be interesting to see what bonuses we get in the Celestial Realm. Seeing as it's pretty much our version of the Warp.

No we where lawful good/neutral before,
it's just that we had incomplete laws.

The nomenclature gets down to the fact that Games Workshop cannot copyright things like "Lizardmen" "Dwarfs" and "Wood Elves."

I suspect part of the reason AoS came out the way it did is because you can't even copyright a dice based game system so they didn't put much effort towards it.

Look at the rules for Dungeons and Dragons 3rd edition.
Then look at the rules for Pathfinder.
    No lawsuits.

    Think of WHF 8th edition
Then look at the rules for Kings of War version 1
    No lawsuits.

    It's dice and numbers.

*** I suspect careful vetting by IP lawyers is in the mix somewhere. But, I am a suspicious sort.

The way it works is that you can copyright words but you can't copyright an idea. You could try to get a patent, but patents are likewise for real live actual objects that you can either make or describe how you will make it. So assuming I didn't steal anything that can be visually or linguistically traced to something GW owns, I could rewrite their entire system in new words and they couldn't do anything to me.

This one is not really applicable here, as D&D 3rd was open source, so anyone can publish additions or even full, tweaked rules sets, freely. That's why D&D has such a huge number or very varying quality books available.
