Making this to capture and share my progress as I begin to build and paint my 2k seraphon list among a few other things I might buy on the way. I got back into painting miniatures around one year ago after not having touched them for ten years and am loving growing my skills
First try at actual basing. This is for forty Skinks. I was going for a mountainous wetlands vibe with these bases.
I like what I see so far! What I like most about the basing is that not all of the bases have the water on it. Most times it is to much to have it on all of the bases, if you place a couple of them per unit it will have a great result Keep up the work Wondering what your skink look like Gr, Imrahil
Finally picked out the paint scheme for twenty of the Skinks and really happy how it's looking pre highlights The other twenty are going to be closer to the classic style of skinks. However, I'm still trying to figure out what to do with the scales and webbing
That's true, I meant the yellow eye oval too. Do I see it right that there is a brighter yellow painter only for the part of the eye?
Hey great looking bases man, cool idea with the streams! Those Skinks are nifty too, what I really like are those small dots on that "fan" on their heads, it's a nice little detail. Keep up the good work!
Finally finished up with all the major skin areas and just have the smaller details to go as well as the weapons and shields. Also decided to settle on cygor brown for the backs of the light blue skinks and khorne red for the webbing
Decided to take a quick break from the skinks and get started on the bastiladons. Also picked up the ogre boys from from feast of Bones.
Decided to give some contrast paints a try for the two bastiladons skin and shell colours. Happy with how they turned out. Definitely prefer using standard acrylics as I think the finish that comes out is a lot nicer and you can do a lot more detailing on the scales with it. That being said for the dino hides I really recommend it.
With the Skinks essentially done bar the nails and teeth I decided to give painting some skin tones a go on one of the ogor gluttons. This is the first time I've done skin tones on something that wasn't a lizard and am really happy with how it turned out. Also will upload a final picture of the skinks once they're finished.
Finally finished up my skinky boys just in time for the new battle tome to drop. I much prefer the dark blue paint job to the standard seraphon skink blue but really enjoy the contrasting colours on the table top. I'm going to be getting my slann done next and will post some updates once I get under way.
