Hi gang, I started working on a LM temple with my son (he has commandeered my LM army) and he has subsequently discovered my old "WH Siege" book. He's now interested in converting Siege for AoS and we're working on walls for the LM temple as well. I usually field a small-ish Skaven army against him and I need to build some Siege scenery for myself as well. My question is this: what would Skaven fortifications look like? Suggestions are appreciated!
I think you could get away with 40k scenery, all dilapidated and half destroyed! Ruins of a former society type thing.
I like the idea that Skaven might re-purpose the remnants of other cultures and societies... My son suggested something nest-like, all sticks and stones held together with mud. Thanks Bowser!
Orks are the scavangers and I think Skaven are the same but more cunning so they would have more tech in their structures, dwarf shields etc. Nest like structures will works well and can't wait to see what you two come up with .
I do like the idea of them making nests in, on, and around repurposed buildings, seems like some fun projects coming up for you!
I'm just getting into the Skaven (and they've been an entertaining foil for the LM so far, so I'm hopeful I can get a little more in the Skaven mindset as I start working on their fortifications.
I also really like the idea of the Skaven adding nest material to existing structures. Looking forward to it!
As an old skaven player I used to just have captured structures rebuilt with rusted iron struts and wood
Before the Skaven build anything they tear down somebody else's work. Skaven burrow and undermine to get anywhere (rather than March overland). So a lot of earthen construction, berms, earth works, mounds, and such would be expected. Plenty of dirt is available.
