well, recently my friend has gotten into warhammer, he saw some of my lizardmen and said I want to get into it, his birthday came up today and a few days ago I said,
"it's probably not a good idea to get lizardmen because I've got them and you wont be able to do much with them If already have"

and today, he told me that he got 6 boxes of warhammer. LIZARDMEN.

That was probably the biggest Sigh in my life. because well, none of us have actually played a game (including me) and he has got the same stuff.
any possibilities we can play each other? I guess, you still could because our armies will contain different units, but still. I am really annoyed LOL!
Thanks for reading I just wanted to let it out.

EDIT: *I do need to mention that he also said. I got them because I love dinosaurs ._.

HA! I think everyone loves dinosaurs. What a conundrum.

LM on LM can be quite challenging. I've run some introductory battles for friends with my own army against itself a few times. Skinks vs Saurus is a fun time. Both armies have totally different tactics and weaknesses. Stegs vs Carnosaurs is also a good battle. Cavalry vs Krox is another interesting match-up.

Just make sure you guys don't field the same army! That would be weird.

I've see rules in a white dwarf for a civil war.
I think its best that he pics the army he likes the most. Since warhammer is mostly army building and painting. He picked them for all the right reasons.

Don't sweat it, you can totally play eachother. Lizardmen are good for different tactics, and by having someone with the same army, you can both learn a lot quicker.

SIX BOXES? Holy cow. That is a lot of dinosaurs.

I WISH I GOT THAT MANY DINOSAURS ON MY BIRTHDAY!

I can definitely see how that would be obnoxious, but as was already said what's really important is that you are both playing armies you enjoy, and if it just happens to be the same one... oh well! I bet it will still be fun and you will still have interesting games. Maybe especially so! You're likely to learn a lot about your army if you know how to play it as well as how to play against it.

I would advise that you try to paint differently though. THAT could get confusing, fast.

No one bats an eye when two human armies fight. Chess players have identical armies and no one complains (they are painted differently though).

I got a friend who has four armies and one of them is LM. At some point I want to try a big LM versus LM battle. I have a lot of theories I want to see if they are true. My biggest fear is a LM vs. LM match up just gets down to who kills the other side's Slann first.

First tournament I ever played in the final round was OK vs OK, TK vs TK, and VC vs VC. It really came down to who had a better list and who played them better on the table. The VC vs VC fight came down to a single leadership rolls as all of our caster miscasted and blew themselves up. He rolled double 6s, I rolled double 1s and took first place.

Yeah I was shocked, but it turned out that 3 of them were WARMASTER!
I laughed alot! that's what you get for going online when you don't know what your doing lol.
I was really shocked when I saw a tiny slann mage priest! I thought it was a new model, turns out it wasn't.

thanks everyone for the comments, To be honest I'm not sure he knows what he is doing at the moment, I need to help him out alot, as all he has, (paintwise) is the starter set.

Pfft, that sucks. There's no rule-based reasons why you couldn't play each other, but it still sucks that he had to get the exact same army as you. Me and my friends have an unwritten rule that you don't pick the same primary army someone else has. (We're not that many people so it still works.)

It's possible that my passion for conversion and saurians is blinding me to why this would be annoying, but really, unless he yoinks your army list and builds everything the way you do, down to the last scale, then I don't see this as a problem. The more the merrier!
