Hey guys, wanted some talk/discussion whatever you like to call it about running some skink chiefs in your games. i've been reading about as you do and there doesn't seem much up to date information or talk of people running them really. So, my question to you guys is simple, Do you run skink chiefs? If so how do you run then, what size games? Do you mount them? Do you skrox squad them? Any discussions about these little critters would be awesome. I might post an in depth view of the pro's/cons i find with them in 8th if i get enough time over the holidays. Thanks //chuq
I attempted to do the very thing you described: http://www.lustria-online.com/threads/skink-chief-tactica.8679/ Skink Chiefs just aren't that good. A Terradon riding Skink is handy but for the same price you can get several regular Terradons. I thinka Skink with a potion of strength can lead a unit of Terradons to take out medium hard targets like the Hurricannum. The next time I play Empire I plan to try it. I tried a Skink BSB on a Stegadon once. Cannon magnet. the 18 inch range is tempting. If I play a against an army without cannons I may try it again. I played a map campaign with severe restrictions on what I could build. I ended up fielding a lot of Skink chiefs. They didn't do much on the field (they were useful off the field because a single character could garisson a map tile by itself). I'm hoping if we get a new book this year that Skink chiefs will go down in price. If they were cheap as goblin characters they would be worth it.
