    Hello there

Since I have not had that much luck with my saurus warrior core in my last battles I was wondering how viable a Skink Cloud would be when combined with Two Carnosaurs.

For a 2k list the core would be something like this:

20x Skink Cohort with 2 Krox, Banner + Musician

    4x 10 Skink Skirmishers

I could drop the Kroxigor and add more Skink Cohort to the unit to turn it into a pure tarpit.

I do feel however that by dropping the Saurus Warriors I am losing alot of damage. I would probably switch from 2x3 Terradon riders to Ripperdactyl Riders.

So what are your thoughts? Skink Cloud core with Dual Carno; yay or nay?

the 18 inch bsb and general range will definitely come in handy more in this list, than if you had saurus. You might want to consider salamanders, as they would give you a way of handling the bigger units, because let's be honest, skinks aren't good in combat, even though you have a lot om them, you want to bring down the numbers of the enemy's units before CC.

Yes I've checked the Carnosaur tactica, it seems that the list zagreekie was using barely had any skirmishers at all (2x 10 if im not mistaken).

Basically I've got a list in my head that is about this:
    OB on carno, general
    SV on carno, BSB
Skink priest lvl 1, lore of heavens (for sig) + disp scroll

    40 Skink Cohort + banner + music
    4x 10 Skink Skirmishers

    Bastiladon with Solar Engine
    8x Chameleon Skinks
    3x Terradon Riders

That leaves me with 150 points (at 2k).

Now there are a number of things I could do:
    - Add a group of Terradon Riders and add lvl 2 to the skink priest
    - Add a Skink Chief on Terradon, with sword of might, enchanted shield and dawnstone and add lvl 2 to the Skink Priest
    - Swap the Terradon riders for Ripperdactyl riders.
    - Try to get a Salamander or something like that in there somewhere.

Basically I want to go to a tournament at 2k but I am unsure about the rules of that particular tournament (End times % or not, etc etc). So I am looking for something that is relatively viable. Last tournament I had a very similar list (2x 3 Terradon riders in special) and used Saurus Warriors. In all 3 games the Saurus Warriors barely did anything but give up points because they got wrecked in combat. I'm planning to use the 40 Skink Cohorts to do the same, just at nearly half the cost.

    Opinions, thoughts?

    Thanks!

As you already have a lot that can do the same (Skirmishers, chameleons and terradons) I think you should go for something that aids them, or something that addresses the weakness in the army.

With 150 points you could take another bastiladon, to make more use of your PD.

I have to say I usually try and cast the heavens sig and then sixdice the bastiladon spell. So I am all good with my PD. What I can do is up the chameleon skinks to 10, up the Terradon riders to 4 and add a Salamander pack with extra handler. One Salamander might not be that effective though.

I don't think the salamander should be there to do a whole lot, but it's there to help you get the advantage in combat.

Too bad, he would have made a fine addition to your army.
