    I have an idea with skinks and I really want to know two things

    A. Will it work?
    B. Is it a good idea??

    The skinks are essentially draconian that have been created by a vampire who mixed skinks with dragons (basic beginning). How would this be fluff wise?

    The way that I will do this it just with a skink, cut off the frill, feather and any other decorative items and add wings to them...I am not sure how I will paint them.

    Any opinion would be great appreciated.

    Sounds like a fun conversion.
    20mm bases doesn't leave a lot of room for wings, and still letting them rank up.
    You could go onto 40mm and use them as counts as terradons/rippers, but they'd be pretty small for that.
    IMO, you'd be better off converting saurus warriors, just from a scale perspective.

    What do you plan on using the Draconians for?

    They will be to represent a few things, in my lizardmen army they are there to be skinks (as skirmishers, cohorts, on the stegadon etc). pretty much anything that is a skink with get replaced. While yes they will have wings but they wont use them.

    They will also be used for my VC army and they will replace anything that is on a machine/chariot (e.g. CC, MEngine).

    @Lizardmatt
    I do agree with you that 20mm is very small but I was thinking of getting my hands on some metal wings and bending them for most models. When it comes to stretched out models such as the "skink chief with sword and sheild" I would have the wings stretched out.

    The metal wings I would probably use are from reaper miniatures: https://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/familiar/sku-down/02969

    Down the bottom you shouldbe able to see that you can buy small wings fro 28 cents. Beyond that I don't think I would be able to use plastic wings.

    Those wings actually look too big for skinks.
    If my monitor didn't compress the image at all, it's ~35mm wide, and ~20mm tall.

    I think you might be very hard pressed to get that to work on a skink ranked up on 20mm bases.

    Use converted draconian Skinks as stand-ins for Saurus Warriors. Regular Skinks aren't fully transformed or grown yet, just add some extra thick scales.

    Now that you point it out I very much agree with you, I have no idea why they were smaller.
    Now I need to find some new wings

    @Scalenex
    I like that idea A LOT and it would make them as an army more viable option, although I would have thought 'draconian' saurus warriors would look more beastly. I like the idea none the less and it would make having the creator stand-in for a slann more viable.

    You could use tyranid's gargoyle wings,
    they should fit well ,i've seen them used on ghouls,daemonettes and ungors

    I was considering using Tyranid Gargoyle wings which is highly doing able I would need to fill in the holes with green stuff. However I felt that they were to large you wouldn't happen to have a picture of those models would you?
