8th Ed. Skink help!!

    I have just bought a box of skinks and I don't know what to do with them!! Advice please!

    The options are:
    1) non skirmisher unit of 20 with 2 x krox.
    2) 2 x skirmisher units of 10.

    If I go with option 2, then I don't know whether to use blowpipes or javelins!!

    Thoughts please

    In a word: javelins. You don't pay for move and shoot, plus you can stand and shoot at any range.

    I second the motion for javelins for two more reasons. First, they can also fill in with the krox to form a Skrox unit, thus giving flexibility to your overall army. Second, they get a 6+ AS and a 6+ parry save which aren't great but grant moral victories every time you roll one!

    also they cost more and don't have multi-shot. :p

    I would personally go for 2 units of blowpipe skinks, but if your having trouble with your opponents skirmishers get some javelin skinks

    I would think it depends on what you already have and what kind of army you would have. I really like the skirmishers with blowpipes, but, as I'm currently sorely missing Skinks for cohorts (also missing: Kroxigors), I would make them into cohorts. And, as Stonecutter (a person with a great look on life, it seems) said, you can use them also as skirmishers, so flexibility!
